anyone ski with one. i wanna get one but im worried about fucking it up.

worst comes to worst ill get it and just use my nano... prob the better idea

but still just wondering if anyone skis with one.

i have one.. im thinking about making a case for it... like putting a lot of styaphome or like something like that and duck taping it(but haveing a part where i can slide it in and out)... but no i dont ride with it. im scared the screen will crack if i fall on it so im getting a 50 doller shuffle... cheap and hard to brake. hope this helps

word i ski with one of the original nanos now so its small and b/c of that hard to break.

thanks dude!

yeah, i have one, and ski with one all the time.......just think about were you fall........yeah if you put it in your back pants pocket or side pockets, that might be a bad idea......i put it in my inner jacket pocket like where my chest is......plus those things are alot more durrable than ppl think......i've droppeed my plenty of times, nooo problems.....even if you crack the screen....which i have...it still works perfectly......its fine to ski with, dont be a panziiiiiiii

wow, im really lazy......had to write with these ....... .... ... lol

I have a touch but my jacket has a special zipper just for mp3 players so its kinda protected. But juding by its location if i were to fall on it, i think i would have more things to worry about than if my ipod is okay.

the thing with ipods is that any ipod over 2 gigs, has a hard drive, with moving parts. hard drives want to sit flat and spin. so skiing + moving parts dosent fit too too well.just grab a shuffle for shredding, it dose fine for the day.....but i also have a touch for anything but skiing basically, and it is a GREAT unit.

i have an itouch and i ski with it, i put in in a chest pocket with the screen pointed inwards and its worked out for me so far so i dont see why not to get one. they are so sick and i have noticed that mine has a lot longer battery that previous ipods so thats a + for me

hope that helps in your decision

If you can afford an Ipod touch I would seriously recommend getting an iPod shuffle for skiing. These things are awesome. You never have to worry about crashing with it. I have crashed on jibs stright onto and it has not had a scratch or dent.

correct that hard drives cannot handle falls and such, but wrong in saying that that is a bad reason to use a touch while skiing, because itouches use flash memory instead of spinning hard disks, therefore you can shake them up all you want without ruining them....i skied with my touch all of last season with no problem, but i would only place in the chest pocket of your coat...that is by far the safest place for it.

Stay with your nano. Its not like you need more than 4 gigs of music to ski to, and theyre tanks. Ive had mine for ever and it still runs perfectly. Touches are bigger and that screen just isnt worth risking. I've seen tons of people with cracked screens and its just not the same.

im pretty sure nano's are over 2gigs and they are flash drives

but anyway you all make a good point about just using a nano
