I have had my ipod touch for a couple weeks now with the 2.0 update/app store on it and I think its pretty slick. I never got a chance to jailbreak it before though and I'm wondering if its worth it to still do or if I should just stick with the 2.0 update (are people still making apps for jailbroken ipods)?

jailbreaking is alive and well. a 2.0 JB was released a while ago but its very hard for any one not experienced with jailbreaking. stick with 2.0 for now until there is a release of the next ziphone/iliberty

my friend who works at the apple store was able to get me the app store application without having to jailbreak my ipod or actually buy the app store.

I havent heard of that, so basically you can get anything from the apps store for free?

i just feel there is so many great things to do with a jailbroken ipod, sure the app store sounds good and they have alot of god stuff but all the free stuff is mostly up for jailbroken ipod

Right now I have 2.0, mainly because its stable and a lot of the apps are better than you get from jail breaking. I jail broke 1.1.4 before the app store came out, but I haven't tried 2.0 yet. I think until 2.0 jb becomes more developed I'll stick with the normal version.

I think I might give the 1.1.4 jailbreak a try soon...part of me is saying, "could be fun".

no no, the app store was free and all the applications that are free i get for free but the one that i have to pay for, i still have to pay for

so pretty much im a cheap bitch and didnt wanna pay 10 bucks to get 2.0 and i got that for free

So did I ;)

Except I downloaded it instead of going to the Apple store.

haha yah its not to hard to do, and worth it when deciding to jailbreak it or not...i'd so go for th 1.1.4....i didn't know a think when i started out and so its took me 4-5 hrs...but since then ive done many and have perfected it, so just set an afternoon aside and hack away

I updated mine to the 2.0 software a few days ago. There are alot of really good free applications, but the better ones you have to pay more for.

For the free ones, I use the Remote application alot, which allows you to control iTunes on your computer via wireless anywhere in your house. The Pandora Radio is pretty good, i had an account setup on my computer a while back that i hardly ever used, but on the itouch it works really well. I'd also suggest one of the marbles games, Tap tap revolution, and a drawing game.

2.0 jailbreak is a a must. I updated my touch to 2.0 about a month ago and jailbroke it using winpwn a week later. its so sweet. Instead of that gay blank background ive got a pic of dumont, and ive installed a bunch of games, like mario and zelda. its totally worth it, let me know if u wanna know more.

Yeah I want NES games and shit...i think I'm going to jailbreak this beast today

shit so... i have jailbroken 1.1.3 . should i update now or what? right now i got NES with mario 1,2,3, i have excite bike and super contra as well. plus 2 other pages of games...idk if its worth it though..

I had the 2.0 jailbreak going on mine with the NES app downloaded but i dunno how to get roms on it to play.

Help?

Ok i figured out the SSH shit and now I have a bunch of working NES roms on my iPod touch (WOO!).

I wanted to put a custom browser theme on my ipod (WoodenREALIZE) and I downloaded the app Customize to do that and it never applies the background when i click apply....any ideas why?
