Ipod messed up

I just turned on my ipod and the top 25 most played songs are all songs I hardly recognize and have only listened to once or twice. after plugging in my ipod i saw that those songs were played about 2173938749 times. i dont see how this is possible because all the songs that recieved a boosted play count are in no way connected to eachother. anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
