do you guys prefer the ipod or dell mp3 players and has anyone had a problem with the batteries dieing on either of them. I heard the ipod only lasts about 18 months

yeah there have been problems with the ipods battery but nobody I know has had any problems and they've had ipods for more than 18 months.

Yea, that video on ermac.org about the Irreplaceable Ipod battery only lasting 18 months was true, but like ^Freezy said, that problem has been fixed for hte newer models. Ipods are the way to go, so sweet, if you dont want to dish out as much cash, get your hands on a Mini Ipod, which rock too and still hold plenty of music.

Take it from everyone, there's no doubt that the iPod is the sweetest mp3 player out there, they're so easy to use, and really quick on file transfer and on board song navigation. They're pretty pricey, but with everything it won't last forever, but in the mean time the iPod mini is a great option.

i have the new ipod mini, it is like a pain in the ass to set up and get to work, and like when i first got it, it would just turn off like 'shut down' and you would have to 'reboot' it to get to work it sucked. and i had to spend 4 hours on the phone trying to figure out how to upload cd's to it. it fucking sucked, and now i have this thing where nyou can have your ipod play through your radio, but like when your driving it becomes really fuzzy and doesn't work, it fuckin sucks

There's the good and the bad...
The battery hasn't failed on anyone I know's yet, if that's good enough for you, so that's about 25 iPods there, and mine hasn't so far. I'm not too worried about it.

^^a hundred bucks...try $250 for the mini and a cool $300 for the 15GB ipod.....definitely an investment and definitely worth it...the new ipods only improve upon the last generation so i'm sure we have less to worry about than before...i hear the minis are pretty rad too but i haven't gotten to use one...and as for dell, i haven't used one of those either cuz all i see are ipods and that's what i have...i've heard good things though...it really comes down to preference in a lot of these cases but i have to agree with a lot of you guys and strongly back ipod, you really can't go wrong

i have the ipod mini and it was mad easy to use, i had no rpoblems with it at all
the only thing was i needed to upgrade my windows to 2000
uploading cd's is mad easy, i find everything to be very easy with iTunes, i have like 250 songs on mine and it's not even 1/4 full yet, i need more music!

iriver ihp-120 good shit. 20gb for less than the 15gb ipod with 16 hour battery life. ipods batteries only last like 8 hours to a charge...

The ipod battery will wear out after about 400 recharges. It has to do with the type of compound in the battery. It is funny because the warrenty is only for a year on the battery and so right after that first year the battery will stop recharging. they havn't fixed it. however u can fix it urself by buying a new battery online from some places.

ipods are the shit, and i love them, specially the auto sync feature, anyway, i have a friend who has had his first generation ipod for 2 years and it still works great. The heat buttons are so dope
