hi, NS, it's been a while since I've posted anything but...this dude stole over a thousand dollars from me years ago and he left his iphone recently somewhere so i took it. it's out of battery and i havent found a charger for it yet, i'm wondering if it's possible for me to charge it from a wall socket (to avoid connecting to a computer in case he ordered to have it cancelled) and make use of it without being traced. if he can lock the iphone since he no longer has it, is there anything workaround that will allow me to break into the iphone. again, this guy owes me buckets of money so don't tell me i'm in the wrong here, i'd never do it to anybody but him. thanks NS!
 
maybe if you kept your money in the bank rather than buckets it wouldn't of gotten stolen in the first place
 
once it gets turned on he can use find my iphone to find it. you would have to restore it pretty fast i think.not really sure though. google it
 
if he has the find my iphone app he cant locate a general idea of where you are assuming he is connected to 3g or wifi but other than that i believe he cant locate you. There are many downloads from the internet that allow you to enter an iphone/ipod from the computer ie. ifunbox and many more but it wont allow you to directly get into the phone. thats all i know.. hope it helps
 
you can probably jail break it if you plug it into a cpu but stealings kinda a dick move man
 
tell that to him, he stole way more money from me than it is worth. trust me, i don't like to steal normally. but thanks for the replies guys, i'll see what i can do.
 
also, i'm not trying to steal his phone service or anything obviously, so i'm hoping to be able to use it mostly as an ipod and to use it on wifi. this is possible, right?
 
dude wtf man, okay he stole 1grand from you doesn't justify you stealing his phone. What if his mother was dying and she was trying to call him? Revenge isn't worth it.
 
Take out the sim card before turning it on, and dont connect to wifi. Maybe do the restore on a public computer like at a library
 
Only problem with this is that he could maybe find you in a library, or have adds put up there. But as long as you take out the sim card and disconnect it from wifi you should be fine. Maybe just wait a little while so that he is no longer actively looking for his phone?

And make sure you don't get caught. I restored a "found" iphone for some dumb bitch and I ended up in trouble with the cops for it for some reason. fines were up to 1000$ but the cops new she was a stupid skank and it was all her fault lolololo
 
thanks for the help. unfortunately the phone is CDMA and doesn't have a sim card. does anyone know what this means?
 
interesting. maybe i'll have to abort this mission. just wanted to see if it was possible to do safely. thanks everyone for your help, and to all those claiming im in the wrong for even thinking about doing this: fuck you, my money is important to me and i could have easily bought an iphone with the money he stole, saying he deserves to keep his phone after dropping it in the snow (i by no means went out of my way to take it) is ridiculous. end of story.
 
do i count as an accomplice for giving you tips on here? if so, mods take this down. if not, if the iphone has ios 7, then you can swipe up on the home screen and turn on airplane mode. this should turn off location services and nobody can call the phone. also, take out the sim card. look up how to do that. good luck with whatever it is youre going to do
 
I totally understand where you're coming from! If I were you I'd give it back to him and make him feel like an asshole for stealing from you! Actually I probably wouldn't but that's def the best thing to do... Also my phone was off, deactivated, and for the most part a paperweight but they still found it so you can't do much about them finding you if you do decide to try and hide it. Good luck!
 
Fuck the kids trying to look good. If someone stole anywhere over $500 of my money that i worked for i wouldn't give a fuck about taking their phone. Not to mention he probably didn't even buy that phone his parents did or even he bought the phone with the 1k he stole from you. Just wait a week or two until he thinks the phone is legit gone and deactivates its and then plug it into a computer right away and restore it as fast as you can. You'll be good. Kids a scumbag. And if you feel guilty about taking it just say you found it and hand it to him then smash that shit in his face.
 
I like what this kid ended off with. Show him you found his phone don't text it or anything and then smash it right in his face. After that deny deny deny and there's no way you can get in trouble unless it's on video. Fuck that kid
 
Yes, but when he turns it on iCloud automatically tracks the last place it was turned on from, iOS 7 is basically impossible to steal, even if he restores it I'm pretty sure the guy can still find it IF he has iOS 7
 
Load it with a bunch of random shit, porn, horrible music, pictures of your ass, just random crap then put it in his mailbox
