Okay so i live in canada but i am in costa rica for a vacation. I have to keep the actual phone off its self (text messaging, phone calls etc) cause it costs to much but i still want to be able to use the wireless internet on it. Turning flight mode on disables everything except music and videos so i cant use wi fi on that. Is there anyway to still be able to use wi fi but have the phone part off?

Also i dunno what data roaming is and if i should turn it on or off while im here, ive had my phone on flight mode the whole time.
 
International data roaming is not cheap at all. I think at&t is about two cents a KB, which is a lot. I am not sure about the wi-fi part though. I know on my BlackBerry I can do that easy.
 
ya i know its crazy, and do you know if i should turn data roaming on or off on my phone will im out of the country?
 
If you don't want to be charged you should turn data off period. If you want it to work then turn the roam on. Also check with your provider, they have special packages that you can get for a month or however long you are gone.
