IO7 7 Update Wednesday who's excited?

I'm personally a big fan of the design and aesthetics. Time will tell about performance
 
i really like it so far. I like how they put in a standard flashlight instead of getting an app or using the video camera flash
 
I'm disappointed it's as slow as it was with the betas, I'll probably just have to close apps more often that's all though.
 
Mine was being dumb with this too. It told me I needed to update itunes, but then when software update ran it said everything was up to date. Which it isn't, clearly. So I just went to apple's site and downloaded itunes and installed it myself. Now it's working.
 
I was worried too, but I looked closer and its only 655 mb so not a huge deal, the 3 gb needed is just for downloading i guess. Your memory will be pretty much the same because the current OS just gets replaced.

Currently about 1/4 of the way done with the download, getting there...
 
i actually gained some memory, it seems like about .7 gb.as for the actual update, i think its pretty neat. i like the slide from the bottom thingy better than i liked the double-click home thing for music playback and stuff. the flashlight is also pretty cool, that allowed me to delete the flashlight app and free up some space.

overall, i wouldn't really worry if you're having troubles now. its a pretty awesome update but you wouldn't be missing out on anything groundbreaking if you wait a couple hours, or days or whatever.
 
Hey so when I text someone instead of my name it shows up as my email. Like _________@gmail.com

Something to do with iCloud? How do I get rid of it?
 
Anybody else having issues with the activation servers? pretty sure they're just super busy, but I'v been attempting to activate for 4 hours now..
 
The activation servers are down. My friend who works for Apple told me after I text him my problem and that's what he told me.
 
No, he read the iMessage but hasn't responded back yet. I can't even use my phone at all and I thought it was my usb cord at first but it's not.
 
It said 8 minutes left for the update, came back and it said 30 FUCKING MINUTES GAWD DAMMIT THIS IS LIKE MY 10TH TIME TRYING TO INSTLJASGINFIOD;SFLNIO;WLES
 
yeah wtf is with that. seems so simple, yet they blew it.

also, i thought you'd be able to see today's weather in the notification center, yet you can't. is this only on the 5 and up?
 
This was what happened to me so I did this and it worked. But then for the hell of it I tried it using just my phone and it worked.
 
Well I haven't had any problems...if everyone just used there computer and wasn't a jackass try wouldn't have so many problems. I'm sick of seeing #fuckios7brcausethedownloadtookalldaywhenupdatingwithmyphoneonschoolswifiwhileeveryoneelseistryingtodothesanething tweets. Fuck people.
 
I'm enjoying this update.

Meanwhile, Grumpy Cat pessimistic demeanour remains unchanged, even following flawless update of iOS7.

I like all the small things they added, like timestamps for every text. Never liked how it only did one for every group of texts.
 
So after updating i have been getting some texts that were ment for my brothers phone he also updated and we are on the same plan. Anyone else with something like this?
 
Thoughts so far.

New messages is way better looking. Didnt ever like the old chat bubbles much.

The parallax effect is very subtle, but very cool. Nice touch.

A few of these animations are a bit slow. Not as in laggy, but as in I have a feeling in a few days the "COOL" will wear off, and the half second it takes will begin to get frustrating.

Its about damn time for expandable folders and an easy to access flashlight. Next needs to be an option to click and hold to access wifi settings, DND settings, etc. But overall, a good step in the right direction.

New notification center is good looking too, and less cluttered feeling than the old one.

I look forward to more apps updating their interfaces to match iOS7, its a rough transition in a few apps going from the crisp cleanliness of the os, to oldschool looking apps.

I also hope Mavericks makes some UI overhauls that match iOS, I already know they are ditching a bunch of the terrible fake textures (I'm looking at you calendar, with your fake torn pages and cork texture), but I would love if iChat looked like messages, etc.
 
Liking just about everything about the update, the music player seems like it took a step backward in the update though, I much preferred its looks in ios 6.
 
Welp, after trying to find how the fuck to get to iTunes Radio from e-articles, all I've seen is that it's US exclusive soooo....?
 
Apparently you need a US Apple ID. Log into iTunes with that, re-launch music app, then it's in there. Licensing rights suck brass balls.
 
I've had iOS7 since beta 5, and everything worked great besides the panorama wallpaper feature, where if you move your phone it moves the panorama. I was hoping it was just a glitch in the beta, but after updating to the legit version, it's still not working. Anybody else having the same problem?
 
actually just did some research, apparently Apple took it out in beta 5, which sucks because that was a fuckin sick feature. Whatever though hopefully they will bring it back in the future
 
What is the feature? I went to settings and selected a panorama and it just crops it. I couldn't find anything else involving it.

They totes suck bc you didnt take the 5 minutes to see if a new operating system works on your device.

Oh, and you didnt lose your jailbreak forever. Do your research.
