Inventors are blind idiots!

not sure if this was said or not, but whatever...there are 2 problems i see with your statement

1. guns and weapons are used to dissolve conflict and make the world better - no country wants to fight, they do it for the safety and benefit of their citizens. its the "gangstas" who think they roll and kill people every day in the ghetto who are misusing guns.

2. the a bomb was necessary for the war, and XavierD put it quite well. It was the start of nuclear knowledge as we know it, which is basically just advanced chemistry...you think that during the 4-5 years of the Manhattan project, Albert Einstien, Enrico Fermi, and other legendary scientists didn't know what they were making and what it could do...

basically - you're a blind idiot...ok we're done

your a fucking idiot bro.  the japanese were far from beat.  it was eaither a. drop the bomb or b. invade mainland japan  and lose millions of american lives.  chances are half of us wouldnt be here today if we decided to invade mainland japan because about 60% of our armed forces would have died to crazy kamikaze attacks and wave after wave of suicide charges by desprete insane japanese infantry. ur a dumb fucking cunt.

i dunno who posted befroe be about the ww2 lady that pulled a gernade out of her slothes and blew up the soldiers on the island but.... my friends dad who was in vietnam told us how they had to kill some children because in the beginning of the war trying tow in over the people the marines would give candy to teh kids of the city.. but the vietcong found this out and strapped gernades all over the backs of the kids and would have them run to the soldiers and blow themselves up.. once the marines found this out they would have to tell the kids to stop running but some wouldn't understand or where trying to suicide bomb the soldiers would have to kill them... i know it is fucked up but these things had to be done... and i have heared this same shit goes down in iraq. This same guy also got bombed by his own men (friendly fire) wiht agent orange when they took over a vietcong building.. he still loves his country and i am sure would fight for it again if he could.

a group of men from the mensa society went out for dinner,so when they sat down to eat , they noticed that the salt was in the pepper shaker and the pepper was in the salt shaker.. and they asked each other "how are we going to get the salt back into the salt shaker and the pepper into the pepper shaker? they were so puzzled trying to figure a way to fix it and so they asked the waitress how to fix the problem. she went and unscrewed the lids that said salt on the top and put it onto the salt shaker, and the same with the pepper

it's a true story.

Japan hadn't officially surrendered then though.

They would have fought to the death. We could have mowed down their entire nation, and they thought they could hold us off. The only way to make them surrender was to drop the bombs. Now remember, the attack was VERY secretive. Only a few people knew that those were the only A Bombs we had in the nation. Japan thought we had more. So when we dropped them, it made the realize "oh crap, they can wipe us out if they want to."

I hate the title...inventors have brought many great things...alexander graham bell, tomas edison, all these people made the world a better place. The problem in your statement is that one person invented torture and weapons. Its not the case. Weapons have been developed over centuries. But this is human nature, fight over useless shit. Dont get me wrong, Im on your side. The atomic bomb was not built at all by Einstein, he fled to avoid having to confront it. But the bombs were going to be created anyway. 2 reasons: money and to see if it could really be done.

The real idiots are the people who use them to harm

Pretty much anyone who has a cursory knowledge of history could easily explain to breck-love why his statements are flawed, foolish, and incorrect but I just wanted to make a few points.

Japan did not surrender even after the first bomb was dropped.

Countless more people were killed by the fire bombings preceding the atomic bomb.

The scientists working on the Manhattan project believed that creating a weapon of such power would end physical conflicts.

Many alternatives to dropping the bomb on Japan were explored and given the circumstances this option was chosen.

Humans will always struggle with each other for control and power the key is to make sure that the people with power are compassionate, intelligent, and humble.

Im sorry to hear about your friend.

this relates to the original post. Nobel, the guy that invented dynamite, created the Nobel peace prize because of all the harm that could be done by his invention.

So that makes it ok?

I've never agreed with it. Just saying that another nuke in the ocean isnt going to help.

Inventors didn't even make that stuff... scientists did, hired by their respective countries to make weapons for war. Inventors make cool stuff like zippers and new ways to make skis and think of crazy ways to do something simple.

The important thing to remember is

1) Humans will always try to kill each other

2) A gun has never killed someone, only a person can use that gun to kill a person. The same applies for any weapon.
