Introducing the New Motionplayground

Hey all,

I'm sure you've seen my motionplayground site with the 1 extended (custom) level, but today I'm releasing a full version of motionplayground java with 3 new levels (and i finally got the terrain names to work).

Without further ado, the link to the new and improved motion playground ishttp://wm.twintipped.com/sssjava/ for your addiction. The page it takes you to is rather self-explanatory, but for you non-computer geeks out there, try both the '..fast..' and '..medium..' versions of MP and see which one works out better for ya.

Tootles,

^^^ to answer the 2 above questions/comments, If you press spacebar too fast too many times in a row (like 4 or 5 times in about 1-2 seconds) the game will freeze, and so will Internet Explorer (microsmack sucks).

The trick to getting up to the top of the wall is to lean back a little bit, tuck down (but not far enough for your hands to drag) so that you can just see a part of his leg, but nothing is touching the ground, and as soon as you get to the tranny up to the wall, push up hard. As you ride up the wall, slowly tuck more and more and eventually you'll slide right up, and land ontop of the wall.

kinda tricky, but you'll get it eventually.

ok guys, i got more great news. the maker of motion playground agreed to give me the source code for his games, so soon i will be able to change more than just the skier's color, physics etc, and change some of the core values of the game.

basically, wait about 2 weeks, and you'll have like 5 more levels, and a drop down list that actually shows everything.

shit, thats awesome.

Im still waiting for a backwards switch level though

heh, yeah, about that.. That was one of the first things i tried to do, however MP physics wont let you go leftward past the origin (the levels are basically X,Y coordinates). There is one way to get around this, however, and that would be to make a run where you ski'd regular for the first half, then drop down something (like a gap to low qp, and skie'd under the top part of the level back to the beginning (hitting jumps, rails, and other nice obstacles along the way, of course).

so yeah, i'll probably tack that onto the end of slope style, or something, so u could have a niiiice looong, healthy, switch run back to the beginning. I might even put boosters at the very end, so you can shoot right back up, and ski the whole course over agian once you've made it to the 'end'.

Cheers,
