Into the Mind Urban Segment

how are you just seeing this? oh and btw its sick, probably one of my favorites

Not just seeing this, but with the release of the trailer for "Less" and edit season on the approach, i figured it was something to talk about

the segment was average pro urban skiing with over the top production value (it looks like a cheesy chase scene from an action movie). I'm not a fan of it because it gets to the point where it takes away from the skiing. I love it when you get movies that have a ton of skiing with just the right amount of production (most big name ski movie producers do this).

JP's segment in All I Can was better imho

million times better thats one of the best segments ever and the one in Into the Mind sucked IMO

what pisses me off the most is that i can tell that the spotlight it fake, it's like a key-framed vector mask (i'm crap with video terminology but i know how to do it). when they "shine" on the tree i quivered. although I gotta admit JP's first jump is pretty tight.

It is more about the concept and less about the skiing. Thats what they were going for, and they did a great job giving that part that kind of feel. I agree other parts were better, but for what it was intended to be, I think they did a great job. I enjoyed it

So, so overproduced. With Into the Mind in general it just seemed like the editors threw every editing trick they knew into the movie, and in the process obscured pretty much every shot.

The thing I hated about the into the mind segment was that you couldn't barely tell what was going on. Really anyone could have filmed peoples ski boots in the dark on the streets.

I was really hoping they would destroy some classic Calgary spots.
