if you think this doesn't exist then you have never been to another country. i'm telling you (and all you have to do is ask a physical anthropologist) races are completely indistinguishable.

2. if race does not exist and a classification based on skin color therefore does not exist, then you're theory of racial purity is complete and total bullshit.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that color wheel idea, although colors will blend, there are still areas where one color will be visible. The blendy theory is just a way for scientist to dismiss races, and just make that whole point one that would only be discussed by the un-enlightened. I guess piot's arguement might be one stemming from jealousy, but at the same time I hate the hip hop industry, it thrives on ignorance, female degradation, materialism, superficiality, vulgarity, deviant behavior... And I guess white women embracing that shit for the sake of money is really disappointing. ^thats not a simple explanation to dismiss races. this has been scientifically tested and is something that anthropologists are fully aware of, unfortunatley among the general population its commonly unknown - i say unfortunately, because it is the absolute solution to all idiotic racial prejudices.

i was waiting for someone to say something about the established reds and established whites. well, my response to that is general consensus of averages and ideals. those are examples of what we on average would agree to be the definition of a color, that OR, what we agree to be ideal in our association. to clarify, there is both an ideal red and a common red, sometimes the two are the same.

the point is, you take that color wheel and we'll both agree that there is an ideal or average red, but then take the color directly next to that one and the one directly next to that one and so on, soon enough you'll reach a point where you don't know what to call it - because, its no longer just red and its no longer just orange, so which is it? because it can't fuckin just be one of the two - its a little bit of each.

as for applying this to races, you can't sit in your seat and say that it doesn't exist. sitting in america is not a good place to evaluate or test this theory, you've got to get out and see the world - oh and don't try places like japan where the gene pool has been the same since, well, forever. lets try europe. go to england and head east. okay, england: white, france: white: germany: white, poland: um a little darker, turkey: way darker, russia: fubar. don't think for a second that even within these countries, in a place called europe, that there isn't the same blending.

but if you really want to test this idea than i suggest you go to africa or india. the north west of africa is very different to the north east countries and even a little south in a place called ethiopia.

I'm entitled to my opinion on race, although it's nice to scientifically dismiss the idea of race, it won't fly in the world as we know it, and as people go I don't see that ever changing. Therefore an anthropologist can prove that race doesn't scientifically exist all he wants, but if the general population don't catch on to that it doesn't matter. And we wouldn't want race based programs like affirmative action, and racial profiling to go away would we?

about the color wheel theory, i like it, had never heard of it before, and it makes sense logically. however, the question of whether the term 'race' is scientifically valid is really irrelevant. you average person will always see racial differences every day when they see people of contrasting skin colors. nothings going to change that.

my guess is long time ago, when early man was evolving, there were probably 50 or so distinct races, meaning groups of ppl with the same skin color, bone structure, similar genetics, etc. because they lived in a closed group with no interraction. as soon as people began spreading out in the world, interracting and interbreeding, everything mixed together and now the color wheel theory works.

nonetheless, the idea of race still exists, you can't deny it. personally, i agree with the guy who started this thread in that i don't find most other races attractive. iv got nothing against people doing as they wish, i just wouldn't be comfortable doing it myself, just personal preference. and so just cuz he thinks its disgusting doesn't make him an evil racist bastard.

however, him saying that he wants to keep the white race pure is a bit borderline. i believe hitler was an advocate of the same racial purity. there's nothing wrong with feeling that way about who you find attractive, but if you try to enforce that opinion on others, that is where you cross the line.

either way, its not that big a deal what he thinks, if anyone on this site was offended, im sure they have either already yelled at him or just completely ignored the thread

personal preference about finding not finding people of certain races attractive isn't racist, I don't think anyone's arguing against that. But yes, saying that it's disgusting and unatural for races to mix and preaching the desire to 'keep the beautiful white race pure' is definitely crossing the line.

to elaborate: race is a concept that focuses on small associative percentages of a freeflowing spectrum, yes i agree with that, but its not a reality. my point is that there is no such thing as a white race, only the range of color that he associates with 'white,' he can argue his association but in the greater sense of his theory it is ultimately flawed.

since the early ages of exploration 'scientists' have tried desperatly to find distinguishing physical characteristics to differentiate between races: were talking about intelligence, strength, etc - the hayday (sp?) of phrenology. the problem was that they couldn't ever find anything, so then they decided that it would come down to skull size (again phrenology). the created denominations and labled them in order of intelligence, until one really smart 'scientist' realized that there were skull size differences between northern and southern europeans - seeing that this would lead to serious problems between the 'civilized' world the whole idea was scrapped.

there is only one consistent difference between 'races' and thats skin color. there are many instances where there are cultural differences, but that doesn't apply to 'races' as a whole.

its fine to consider specific differences between select 'racial' groups, but not without keeping the bigger picture in mind.

i agree with you in that racism will never change. but its negative persistence can be greatly reduced. the problem is that the majority of people are a product of an environment that is ultimately inconducive to that. fundamental truth combined with an interesting theory has the potential for a lengthy chain effect, i hope that some of reading this may pass it on to some who are a little more ignorant.

a society free of racism is by far a utopian value, its never going to happen, but that doesn't mean i can't try.

This topic is so controversial that it has been debated about for centuries. I think everyone is entiteled to his or her opionion on this subject, but it makes you sound ignorant when you jump on each other about one anothers beliefs.

I think that differences in racial heritage, religion, ethnic orgin, etc. should not have to do with dating. I have always believed that you can't help who you fall in love with… I don’t think you are supposed to. If you are going to ignor the fact that you like someone just because they are a different color sounds absurd to me…. But then again, it’s just my opionion -don’t hate me for it.

I like the idea of the color wheel, no races, that way there is no such thing as racism because we are all the same race. SO how is lorf_piot a racist if there is only one race.
