Internet skiing is DEAD

But really, where are all the online video contests at? I feel like there used to be like 10 or more every season, and now it's just Superunknown. I want to make short, shame-filled videos at my convenience for a chance to win all the gear I can't afford!

Does anyone know of online video contests that have slipped the NS radar?

Tall T just finished another Kilbride edit contest. Then there’s the quicksilver’s video contest that’s for 18(?) and under. That’s what we’ve seen so far this season outside of superunknown. Perhaps the money just isn’t there anymore or that for bigger companies, the focus is on their teams instead of trying to review kids videos & give away prizes.

That said, edit contests are cool and would be nice to see more of them with new faces maybe next year.

Summer rail challenge is one of the best video contests in skiing- accessible to everyone since mind blowing rail tricks are easier to get if you're limited to a pvc rail, low risk, high reward. If you've got a set up or have creativity definitely give it a shot this summer.

What contests would you like to see? Contests are an absolute nightmare for NS to run because of all the legal hoops we have to jump through, especially to open it up to anyone outside the USA. But for the right contest, we can still make it happen.

Honestly, I think that the best video contest I've witnessed was the gopro line of the winter...I also thought that the North Face slopestyle video comp was sick. The best online competitions cover aspects of the sport that can't be encapsulated in a single competition run though...here's my proposal for a new, 3 part NS video contest:

Round 1: Best street feature

Round 2: Best air

Round 3: Best line

I think this would be really sick because there are so many well rounded skiers out here, and not a single venue for them to show their combined effort. A loose format (not constraining Street to rails only, or Air to park jumps, or Line to a big mountain run) would open up so much creativity and interpretation. What do you think?
