Interdisciplinary classes- effective speaking topic

soooooo, i need a topic for this shitty college course that we are required to take,

i need suggestions for a topic that i wont mind researching and talking about for 6-10 minutes

make it something funny, but not something that the teachers gonna kick me out of the class over
 
Go to like Economist.com or TheAtlantic.com and pick a story they did that interests you research and talk about that.
 
Longreads.com is a good source for inspiration too.

There was a story from a few weeks ago that ran at Wired I think about how the guys from Monster Cable who designed the Beats Headphones totally got screwed due to their own poor management. It would totally make a great speech about decision making and the drive for more money, go all psychological about it.
 
do yourself a favor and do it on something you are passionate about. it is so much easier to talk about it if you actually care.

I went to a campus film festival a couple years ago and one entrant did a mockumentary on yoga pants. It was pretty funny. It was well received because there were girls in the video participating. Might be a little weird if you're just a dude standing in front of a class talking about girls in yoga pants though.
