I have my BASI 3, I trained for my NZSIA stage 2 but didn't pass. It was the coldest Iciest 3 days of the whole season @ TC. Next year though. Gonna sit my PSIA 3 in the states.
a ok job, but you don't ski as much as you think and if you do it long enough you might turn into a loser ski instructor like most of them. I hate the attitude of the majority of ski instructors (majority not all) i personally would never want to instruct, i have because im certified and my hill ran out of instructors and a few occasions so i steped in to help (im certified but thats for coaching reasons, i coach 15-16 year old good athletes so i can go rip with them and not be on the bunny slope) but whatever if you feel like you want to instruct and enjoy it then do it, i find i ski a lot more not ski instructing. Plus i don't like getting told what to do by skiers that aren't as good as me but hold higher certifictation which makes them god for some reason

Yeah, but it pays the bills and being out on the hill is better than sitting behind computer for 9 hour a day, for sure!

i got my CSIA 2 and am taking my 3 this season at Lake Louise.
Instructing rocks! Once you get a few seasons under your belt you don't always have to teach little kids. You can get advanced lessons, freestyle lessons, all sorts really.
You still have to teach beginners occasionally but i love it. I don't think any other job gives you as much time on snow. And if there's no lessons you're all ready to go riding! Its sweet!
