Instagram Update

I am putting this in the Ski Gabber because this is going to impact ski edits

I remember someone on here saying Instagram has ruined ski edits because people are just filming insta edits and not real ones. That was when it was just 15 seconds now its a full minute! I do kind of like it, but I have a huge feeling this is going to have a big impact on ski edits resulting in leakage/not filming real full length edits. I mean I literally just used it to post my // 2 Months edit // because it was under a minute

What are your thoughts on it because I am definitely digging it, but think it can get outta control and effect the banger ski edits/shorten them...

Insta edits over 15 seconds are bunk. You only need 3 shots to make a banger insta edit for your boys. If you need more time than that, than just make a full edit.

Don't think this is gonna affect edits that much, edits that are under a minute are probably gonna be posted to IG, but also to NS and Vimeo/YouTube whatever. And for the many edits that are over a minute it won't affect them at all

Yea I can definitely see the minute edits being posted on instagram just because it works out, but are we just going to see a lot of minute edits on here more than regular lenght ones? or is just going to be the same

I thought I posted a min edit but I guess it hasn't updated for me yet

Well, now you can add a part on the end with you throwing snowballs at snowboarders and/or gapers :)

So much this.

i miss the days of having to wait till fall to see what pros are doing during the filming season. social media has ruined it for me. in a way the same can be said about how NS has ruined powder and freeskier by putting out the same content sometimes a month ahead whether it be in a forum post or news article. An example is the Top 5 skis for next year article on here. If you want to read about that in freeskier, you need to wait until august.

there's nothing insta about 60 seconds

TRU. I don't think I've ever watched any video on Instagram for longer than 15 seconds because it doesn't make any sense. I agree, you should just make a full edit.

The 15 second format forced us into a new editing style, you can't have any fat on it if you want to show 4 or 5 tricks. Now that everyone is used to 60 seconds feels waaaaay too long while scrolling through your feed.

I don't like it, and honestly I'm still salty that I can't pause the video to show my friend a sick shot and I have to tap for sound... If I don't want to play sound I have my phone on mute.

Especially for small world! They released all the really cool looking shot on Instagram, and then I was like I need to see the real thing and I was just so disappointed, like the movie was great, but I already saw all the great shots because of Instagram....
