Instagram spammers

Look on anyone's skiing vids/pics and there is a good chance you will see a company trying to promote themselves by liking and commenting on the pics/vids.

Most commonly: "wow so cool. BTW are you on the riders app?"

I see this all the time haha. It gets super annoying and makes me not want to even look at there Instagram/app.

My insta is private so it's never happened to me. However, some of those accounts have sent me follow requests though.

The world surf league, formerly ASP, their instagram gets it constantly. It's always people who are like "for the best action shots follow this account" or something. I've had requests to follow for accounts that seem to just repost pictures. What's even the point of that aside from accumulating followers? Some of those accounts don't even seem to be trying to sell or advertise anything. Or if they are they're not doing it well.

That, and random twelve year olds whose life's ambition is to get 10000 followers request to follow me and probably are looking for a follow back. I should accept then never follow them back to annoy them.

We've noticed this too. Not to say we're innocent because we do often like a photo if someone tags something Saga related. But if you search #sagafam or #sagaouterwear you will see there are a couple of other brands who troll those tags and comment on almost all the photos.

This so much , gotta love outerwear companys commenting with a thumbsup or shit on other outerwear companys photos, they seem like they dont even try... Like , why the fuck would anyone think that this could be a good idea?!

hashtag hunting really the weakest marketing ploy out, especially if you are jacking competitors hashtags. especially with the follow/unfollow.

Instagram marketing is ok when some brands do it right. Like TTP, if you tag their clothes in your picture then there is ussally a pound fist comment from them. Just showing their appreciation for repping.

So #fuckridersapp

I do enjoy the joystick fist bumps and the likes from other companies, I dont mind that in the slightest.

Virtika following me and unfollowing me every week is super weak. Ive noticed there are some skiers who do it too. Like my shit but dont bait me into following you by following me and then unfollowing me soon

i think that only those ridersapp comments are shit.. they even make fake profiles to comment those.

but in general it's great to see companies like joystick, saga, ttp etc showing interest in our way of living by commenting thumbs up or brofists or something like that.

Ski company commented on my picture... "I guess you can say things are getting pretty serious" (insert kip from napoleon dynamite meme here)

@boaysclub has a habit of digging its nose between the cheeks of #sagaouterwear

LoL. Just goes to show you that they don't actually look at your pics.

The pic was a skier showing his broken tooth.

Wow thats so fucking lame... I don't see a problem with going through a more general tag like #newschoolers or #skiing, but specifically going to other companies' tags is so shady. Not a fan.

Probably the best thing I've seen. Also, could I see a pic of the teeth?

And yeah I do find it weird how joystick thinks im doing cool stuff not on their skis or using their poles lol.

As annoying as it is to the core skier, it works. Half of the kids at my school think they're special because they'll get a like or comment from Saga and they will literally buy more clothes from them after that.

I dont mind it at all when people or companies like my pictures but it annoys me when they try to advertise themselves

I don't think anyone is saying liking and commenting is bad. It's when a certain person or brand does it like a robot and isn't actually trying to get involved with other people. They're just trolling for followers and likes.

Sure.

I would say that poaching another brand's hashtag is a bit dirty, though.

There is demon protective, I fell for it when they offered a sponsorship, and when talked to them they just said it was a ploy. Pretty common I guess

Everyone knows that success on Instagram equates to a successful real life right?

"We'd love to see you representing Demon Protective!"

"If you've ever thought about joining a brand for endorsement, contact youmightaswellputascrewdriveerinyourdickholebecausewewontactuallysponsoryou@gmail.com or inbox our facebook page :)"

"DM us if you want to be a resort ambassador for SNOWREV"

Companies and pages like that spam instagram all day long and very rarely have anything of substance to offer.

Great photos! Awesome comments! Sick videos on this thread you should follow @jskis1 on Instagram

Wow. Called out. Hard. TBH I had a feeling this was coming.

Sabek started 2 years ago and to get our brand out there, we spent countless hours strategically liking and genuinely commenting on photos and videos. It took a lot of time. But it was honest and genuine.

Well, that got old. We still wanted to gain followers and new potential customers so we did what any normal person would do in the situation - find an easier way. Well, apparently that was a wrong move.

We'll stop. We're done. Sorry if we hurt your feelings.

Am I sorry we did it? Not really. It actually helped us grow as a new brand, helped us gain a ton of exposure and sales. So I get where you're coming from, it's annoying. And even I hate that stupid Riders App.

So, there you have it. We hear you. But overall,

Hmmmm but have you logged onto the Riders App yet?

My least favorite thing is when they follow your account and then as soon as you follow them back they unfollow you (*cough* First Drop *cough*)...

My real question is, how many more sponsorship requests did you get from kids thinking you were super into their shit?
