Instagram is going to get even worse next year

Somebody sent me this article and I thought a lot of you here might find it relevant:

"Zuckerberg explained that social feeds across the company’s apps would shift from being driven “primarily by people and accounts you follow” to increasingly also being driven by content recommended by AI, even if you don’t follow the users who created the content."

"Specifically, the Meta CEO said that he expects AI-recommended content from people you don’t follow to make up about 30% or more of users’ Facebook and Instagram feeds by the end of 2023. Your feeds are currently made up of about 15% AI-promoted content, according to Meta."

I already find myself essentially only opening Instagram to respond to messages that people have sent me. I can't stand how even a simple google search can cause your feed to be filled with AI recommended garbage. Thoughts?
 
Eh actually I don't see anything that wrong with this. Seems like a great way to keep people clicking around in their website. If the recommendations are something a person is interested in, then that's a win for them.

I used to use the lite version because it let me use it as a messaging app without having to use the actual app.

It was discontinued last fall around the time they made reels and promotions the focus and I’ve deleted and reactivated five or six times when I’ve needed to message friends or someone for work that I don’t have in my phone.

Stories is probably the only functional feed where you can see the people you follow and even that is a sponsored post and ad after every two real stories.
 
already got rid of Fuckbook. Looks like InstantShit is next. Then i'll get all my outworld news from NS. It's Perfect
 
Yeah in the past year or so, IG has taken a total nosedive in user experience. I'm actually kind of relieved, because I end up spending far less time on my phone when all the content I'm shown is absolute dogwater.

They can spread all the garbage recycled tiktok AI videos they want, I'm really only using the platform to talk to my friends at this point.

You get your news from Instagram? Well that explains a lot of the pro-fascist Trump bullshit you've been pedaling.
 
I hardly ever use insta but noticed it's turning into the Facebook feed where Instagram will show you items they prioritize that you might like. This even includes people you don't follow. This is one of the main reasons I stopped using Facebook over a decade ago- they junked up the news feeds.

Nah, after being part of a business who makes all of their money from advertising, it makes you realize how fucking selfish it is to use adblock.
 
I'm already annoyed having to opt out of random bullshit every 30 days. I want to see what my friends are up to and that's it. I can tolerate the ads, but the recommended bullshit is annoying as hell.

I get that it might be nice for people that look at their phones for 8 hours a day, but holy shit just let me turn it off permanently.end rant
 
My instagram recommended just went from somewhat relevant stuff to random ass 200 follower amateur scooter posts so it’s already started
