Injuries due to gear failure?

Last weekend I jut a jump and overshot to flat, my right bindinding broke and my heel was like half an inch lower than it should have been. When I tried to get my foot out it took a lot of force and if I had fallen later I could have seriously messed up my knee. So I'm just wondering if anyone has been injured or just fallen due to gear failure?

keeps happening to everyone once in a while I guess... thats just the risk you

have to deal with when you're a freeskier, I guess..

I guess that i was just guessing

Last season I got comfy doing nosebutter 5s and 7s off knuckles... One day I decided to go 9, first attempt was a complete fail. Heel piece tore out and went flying as I initiated the trick. Then it almost landed on me as I slid down the hill. It made for a cool clip though haha.

not really a failure but the heel pieces of my bindings are basically mini dildos, forever being jib jabbed in the anus by those little cretins

Before I switched to higher din/quality bindings, a few times I'd try to set a spin over 540 I'd just torque right out of my ski as I hit the lip. There's honestly no worse feeling than coming around that first 180, seeing one of your skis just chilling on the lip/flying behind you, and knowing that big-time pain is imminent. Thankfully I never injured myself seriously, but it could have easily gone much much worse. After a few of those episodes I never hesitated to shell out for a solid set of bindings; you can't put a price on safety.

My ski pre released for no appearance reason with mobbin through some trees. Went face first into a tree and ripped my ear off, so that really sucked.

i did an underflip 5 and when I went to land I was missing a ski. Still not sure what happened there, but it was scary as shit.

I popped out of my bindings while doing a butter 3, but that's not really a gear failure unless you take in for consideration that i have squire schizo bindings which had a recalled heel piece.

I have marker free tens which are complete shit bindings and one day i kept double ejecting when landing switch during blind 4's so I cranked the dins up all the way, on the next hit both of my binding heel pieces completely ripped out of my skis, the screws holding them in had snapped and stripped... never again will I buy cheap bindings

Well ripped off may be far....more like split in half haha.....the ear lobe was hanging off and separated. I think I had 10 stitches on it? Quite a bit when you think of how small an area hahah.
