This is for the legalization of Cannabis in Washington state. I know its really early to talk about this but Everyone needs to get out and vote for it spread the word and get people out there we need this thing passed. I know people who have felony charges because of being in the possession of weed. These laws are simply idiotic and have failed terribly. Lets be one of of the first or the first state to legalize bud.

Dude DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT even think about it.

Yes this is your civic duty so what is write and legalize GANJA!

I smoke and this initiative sucks. If you knew anything about the industry/legislation you wouldn't support this.

Dealers will still exist and growers will keep growing and I will still have to bye illegally until I turn of age. The price if anything will decrease from what it is at right know, and It's a step in the right direction. I don't see this law passing without being taxed. Things will sort its self out after its been legal for a couple years Instead of law enforcement wasting tax payers money more money will be able to flow into the states economy and hopeful they can use it to support the public school systems and other useful facilities.

wouldnt it drive all the illegal growers out of business? and also i thought they might put a thc % limit so there couldnt be really dank buds and what not

I don't think they would limit THC content. Show a link me if they are going to do that because that would be dumb. Thats like getting rid of hard alcohol. Illegal dealers would then be able to work legally. It shouldn't effect them to much. Sure some people will go out of business, but legally is much better I know manny people who have gone to jail for selling and my dealers hook up just went into the slammer. The seasoned growers who know how to grow will be able to stay in business.

I don't think they'd limit the thc content, especially because dispensaries sell to patients who need a higher thc percentage depending on their diagnosis.

Does this mean you are not of age to vote? Campaigning for something you can't even vote on and don't have very reliable knowledge on is stupid. All of your arguments are one sided as well. The legalization might backfire and send the price and quality of weed to shit because of things like outsourcing, corporate greed, stupid politicians, etc. Thinking of every possible outcome is how you have to look at it.

i know this maybe isnt realistic, but in a perfect world, it would be legalized, but still grown privatly in small grow ops. like it would also be grown by major corperations and taxed and shit, but the current supply wouldnt go away as well, you would still have people growing and selling their own bud

imagine the tobacco industry. it is heavily regulated and taxed. but also people are allowed to grow and sell their own products, just not comercially

I don't smoke personally, but believe marijuana should be legal and regulated/taxed similar to tobacco and alcohol. From what I understand however with this legislation, is that the parameters in which they will gauge DWI/DUI for NG/ml will likely result in heavy smokers nearly always being vulnerable for DUI/DWI even if they had not smoked in 10+ hours/are not under the intoxicating effects. It is a step in the right direction, but I feel that as some people soon discover there are some more stringent test for DUI/DWI, they are not going to like it so much.

That's not what he said. MS, AIDS, Cancer patients etc that use medical marijuana will always be at risk for a DUI because if they get pulled over, (NOT under the influence) they could be arrested because their THC blood level is higher than most people. There is no completely accurate way to test whether someone is under the influence or not under the new initiative.

^So what would they do with this new initiative, give people urine tests? Take a blood sample? I don't think you can really measure someone's blood-THC levels by breathalyzing them, but I don't know.

Apparently there is a "new device that can measure THC content in the bloodstream" similar to a breathalyzer, but it doesn't require any blood or urine samples. Not sure if it is true though..

i know its kinda selfish but as a minor i dont want it to be legal cause it will be much harder to get. right now alcohol is a lot harder to get than weed as a minor

I am 18 and the smoking age is going to be 21. I am still voting for this so when I turn 21 I can burn and get drunk without the police on my ass.

No one is really arguing that it should not be legal, just that there are some stipulations in the initiative that are making a lot of people nervous, specifically the DUID policy in which NORML has been fighting for years. Like I said I don't smoke so this doesn't directly impact my life either way, but for the large group of friends I have that do, a significant amount of them are quite leery about this initiative.

its not gonna happen. this same thing has happened in many states in the past it doesnt matter if it passes or not federal law will always overcome state law

Some police districts in cali have been testing this thing that you spit on and it will show if you've smoked in the last 6 hours

That is so stupid. Before they test you for that they should test for impairment like a drunk driver. Then they have a right to test you if you fail the preliminary tests. For me to be "Impaired" I would need to smoke 2 grams of skunk. These marijuana saliva tests don't work but they will still be there if marijuana isn't legalized. Today if you are pulled over and test positive for marijuana you will get a DUI. Just air out your cars after you smoke, or just don't smoke in your car.

This guy has some good advice.

Not a user myself, but what I really care about is the marijuana source. Innocent people in Mexico should not have to face a drug war because some kid in Washington wants cheap weed to get high. Also I'd prefer California forests to remain in one piece without dangerous illegal marijuana farms from cartels. So if this adds regulation to sourcing and distribution, I'm all for it.

"Washington state's Initiative 502, which would legalize and tax marijuana and sell the herb through state-licensed stores, got a big funding boost over the weekend, receiving $1.25 million in new donations. The funds allowed I-502's backers to buy a $1 million TV advertising blitz in August, according to campaign manager Alison Holcomb.

Meanwhile, a new statewide poll, paid for by Seattle TV station KING 5, found that a healthy 55 percent of Washington voters support I-502 ,with just 32 percent opposed."

Hell yea to the 55% supporting this initiative. I actually think this may pass. Be ready for commercials about marijuana.

it will pass, people hear "weed legal" and get all excited without actually reading thw proposed law change.

How is it a mistake? A mistake is having people locked up for growing or being in the possession of a perfectly harmless plant. Marijuana prices will drop significantly. You will be able to get an ounce of some fire bud for $50 thats right an ounce of super fire for $50. Who gives a shit if they tax the hell out of it, weed will still be a lot cheaper than it is now. Plus police already pull people over for the suspicion of being high and if you are high they can give you a DUI just if they test you positive for thc. Nothing much is going to change other than you will not be arrested or given a fat fine for being in the possession of marijuana and ganja will be cheaper.

I think you are being sarcastic though. Any one with a brain would vote for this shit since it is a step in the right direction. What can be possibly worse than prohibition, seriously?

People are still going to continue to grow and sell good shit, quit complaining about government regulation and taxation bullshit and support this initiative. It's about damn time

I think one of the main benefits of legalization is taxation, creating revenue for the state, as well as reducing a lot of money being made by dangerous cartels. The initiative would have benefits even for non-users.

I-502 is a step backwards in marijuana legalization. The Per Se DUID section is bullshit as well as the fact that it will be a no tolerance policy for anyone under 21. As well as the fact that it will be impossible to grow your own marijuana and it gives the government the right to control the levels of THC in the weed being sold. I'm all for legalization, but not the way I-502 will make it.

It is a step forward because you can legally smoke weed with out getting arrested. The government wont be able to control the level of thc. All that shit is a myth. When this proposition passes dank weed will be cheap. I have had s great number of my friends get caught smoking weed in parks. None of them have been pulled over for smoking. Or suspected cannabis use while driving, and they smoke in their cars all the time. You can't expect this thing to pass with out all these stipulations. They are just there to make the this law look safe. Plus they need probable cause to test you for driving high. Just be smart its not hard to hide that shit from police. Just take precautionary steps, don't smoke in your car, or air your car out with air fresheners, and the windows down. My guess is the duid thing will be changed after a year or two. The initiative just needs to be put in place first. To bad I am 17 not 18. If I were 18 I would be voting for I-502.

Ahh shit I feel so dumb now. I didn't realize that it does not affect medical marijuana laws already in place... well fuck yeah go for it then. We're not going to get a perfect bill but contradictory to my previous post, it is a step forward.
