hey everyone,
i want to come up to ride at alyeska, what month would u guys recommend for some good snow and coverage. i would like to come as early as possible. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
max

november-december = may be less/no snow, but if there is, the features are the biggist.

January-feb-march = most of the snow falls, january has been iffy before, but the dryest... later on its almost garanteed, but can get wet and heavy.

Spring (april may) can be super fun and soft, if we get sun, the corn lasts becuase we have a deep snowpack.

thanks for the info! i'm gonna be able to come up there a couple times this season hopefully. is there any early season spots to build some fun kickers?
thanks
max

Its hard to get away with it on the best of features in the bowl. Try left side north face (above tram rock, but flat) or outer limits northface (between ragdoll and christmas). The latter can be huge and steep... really scary. Maxes has some potential aswell. All are outer areas though...

Alyeska as a mountain is amazing.

Alyeska as a managed ski resort, blows.

The most amazing skiing on earth isn't found with a chairlift. It is found in the heart of Turnigain pass.

I think you know... the headwall has always been a god given sight. It makes sqauws palisades look like childsplay. Its almost perfect, everything perfect, ive been dreaming of it for a decade... so rarley skied, this year it prooved it can kill.. i promise ill be back to die if it happens again.

places to stay...it depends on how much cash your wiling to spend...
there's the hotel, alyeska resort....and with that you have access to a hot tub and the tram? but its also filled with annoying families and random asians that take pictures of everything...
or there's b&bs everywhere......Bud and Carols b&b is amazing and they just let me chill there and eat food and use thier wax benches....but it might be pricey? i donno....its only like a 1 minute walk to the lower chair which is nice and bud and carol can answer any question you have about girdwood and where to eat and stuff like that...and they are great people....
just look up on google and im sure you'll find something....if your down there for a long enough time yo ucould also rent a condo for a week or something and there are some nice options in that sphere of things.....but eh, again, pricey...

and then if you walk to the end of the road to the really large log cabin you will arrive where i stay occasionally!

hey i want to come up in february for a week and do a budget trip, just hiking and filming for a project. any one down for some shredding and showing me some places? beers on me.max

fairbanks has been fucking shitty this season. worse park than last year, smaller jumps then i've ever remembered, and its been so cold.

thanks for all the updates! it's looking late feb or early march for our visit. i'm pumped to shred and drink beers.thanksmax
