hey anyone ever managed to do a mini set up to practice rails indoor ? i live in a small apartment and have no way to set something in a yard. however i manage to go back to my parents quite often and they have a massive basement so i was thinking there’d be a way to set up small practice area . has anyone ever done that or think it’s actually achievable ?

Msnow once reposted a kid who did that looked sick but you’d most definetly need some sort of landing other than the concrete

i’ll look that up ! most of the area is carpeted and we use it for gym space so i’m thinking it be ok to take the impact and so on

It could be done for sure. I have a ramp inside of a garage and my biggest complaint is how loud everything is. I imagine this could be an issue if it's inside of a house. Everything from clicking and unclicking skis, riding down msnow, sliding and jumping around on PVC and landing hard on skis is really loud.

Indo boards, skis on roller blocks, slackracks, ski addiction tramp skis with their ledge thing, etc might be a better alternative to train rail skills.

I can definitely imagine it being quite loud plus the echo ! i was considering something more lowkey and condensed than what people do in their yards. but also feel like getting crafty about it and don’t see the point in paying the price to get those jibs kit they sell. but ya im getting ideas on what to do

I have totally done this after seeing another kid post on his stories of a setup in his basement during covid lockdown.

Mine was pretty lame as I lived in a studio. I had to set up and take down every time i used it. It was short and not much speed but it was fun to try. I still have it but now that I have a yard and a house I need to make a bigger one.

the one issue would be wetting down the ski surface so it slides better, normally you can use a hose for an outside setup but in a basement drainage would be an issue.
