What makes an independent ski film an independent ski film?

You can't spell crap without rap

So basicly an independent ski film has no outside help i.e. sponsors donators etc...

I would say:

An independent ski-film could have sponsors, but they wouldn't be listed or profiled anywhere.

Its basically a film that no-ones gains anything from. In theory, you wouldn't even be allowed to list the names of the skiers. But that would be dull.

I made my movie entirely on my own. I consider my film an independant film. But on the other hand there is shit like the independant film channel, which is made by teams of people. So who knows.

The definition to me is 'not having coprorate sponsors/ownership'

For example, Freeskier magazine claims to be an 'independent ski magazine' because, unlike Freeze it is not owned by a larger corporation like transworld. Freeskier obviously does have advertising, etc. But it's ''family owned and operated''

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.
