In Simon's Defense

Before I begin, let me start by saying that I REALLY didn't want to have to do this, but I now feel that it is necessary. Furthermore, I am not an ass kisser by any means, nor do I care what people on this website think of me. Take a look at my post count, Ive been a member for around 2 years, and I have yet to exceed 400 posts. Anyway, here goes:

It is important that everyone know both sides of the story. You can judge these guys all you want, and that is fair. However, I think that it is really important to recognize that the judgements you make are not based on the person, but the character that they play in the ski world. I think it is obvious that, in order to be a marketable entity, skiers might tend to play up a certain image. That's all part of the game. At the same time, you have to recognize that, outside of the industry, they are ACTUAL people with real cares and concerns. For example, what do you think about Sarah Burke's words in SBC Skier, that she is really hurt by some of the shit posted here about her life? Anyway, back to the point. Sure Simon rocks the ghetto steeze, has a short fuse, and likes to shoot of his mouth. Most of the time, it's fucking funny/retarded. But you should also know that he has donated a good chunk of change to youth centers in his area, that he's actually really generous to the people around him, especially his close friends, the Bethel, Maine douche bags, and that his folks are good people. Now take that video for face value, and enjoy the entertaining/ridiculous/what the fuck did he just say that words of Simon Dumontttttttt!

I agree that he is an awesome skier, and he is a 'person' outside of his ski career. But thousands of kids look up to you and think you are awesome, you should really try to be a positive role model. Whether he likes it or not, he doesn't really get a break from the public eye. He has potential to be an awesome athlete, and representative of our sport, but he need to grow up, and stop being the tough guy. That can't be disputed. When he starts acting pro, and less of a little pecker, i will respect him.

Dance, magic dance!

You realized that you said like ten words in his defence?

'ski boards are like communism, they are good in theory but in reality they just dont work well.'-winterkid33
