In Defense of Helmets

Okay... this is kinda a lame post... But, I just wanted to take a second and be a bit of an advocate of helmets... Yesterday, I came up short on a transfer gap and hit an ice wall at like 40 miles an hour... i have a broken pelvis, hand, and a concussion... and im missing the rest of the season... but i am so thankful right now... and all because luckily yesterdat was one of the few days i decided to wear my helmet...the doc said that without it I would have major brain damage and couldve died...

Go big and have fun... but always take the time to make the right precautions... wear a fucking helmet... check out landings... et cetera... some day it might save your life.

i wear my helmet basically 100% of the time. its stupid not to when your trying new things and trying to prrgress. the ones who dont wear helmets are the ones too busy trying to look cool

my helmet keeps me from going beyond the changing color stage when i fall on my head in the pipe, i like it!

Damn dude that sucks. Like the rest said thank God for your helmet. Hope you get back on your feet and out on the snow before the doctors say you will, they're wrong most of the time. Maybe even get in a little late season action. Later.

well, when i look at feedback i also look at who wrote it, and you calling no_steeze a "noob" is really funny coming from a NS with a low post count and no cred on this site at all... he was making a legit point, bumping old threads is annoying and it floods the forums with stuff no one wants to read anymore. im sorry but no_steeze is a legit guy and you are the one who is going to get bad karma and bad feedback.

ur dumb. feedback is for buying/selling feedback, so we don't have scammers on the site, not so u can bitch how he yelled at you for bumping a 5 year old thread. if u really feel like you have to make a difference, subtract peoples karma, but feedback is for buying/selling related stuff only. if no_steeze scams you out of 300 dollar skis or something, then u can bitch in his feedback, but not for stuff like this.

and i'm just gonna explain real quick, cause i'm pretty sure i bumped an old thread when i was new to this site too. stick to posting in the first few pages of threads. you can searchbar stuff and see what other people have said about previous stuff, but unless u have a specific question about something, don't bump old threads just to say you wear a helmet or something because it clutters up the fourms.

this argument is the dumbest thing pretty much ever.. obviously the new guy will lose because that is the way with newschoolers.. but in fairness to him he probably searchbared a helmet thread instead of creating a new one.. the later argument is just ridiculous.. anyway the thread is relevant.. i was in an avalanche about 7 years ago and a piece of ski embeded itself about an inch in to my helmet actually just piecing the inside.. no helmet.. and i'd be dead with ski in my skull..

so wait, first of all you were in an avalanche, then your ski broke so bad that a sharp chunk pierced into your helmet?

it wasn't my part of my ski, it was someone who was up slope of me i guess.., i was in a large group i never saw my skis, poles, goggles or braces after the slide.. and i wish i had pictures but at the time i was 12 and didn't have a camera.. i did mention this was 7 (actually 8 come to think of it) years ago..
