Can anyone please help me on choosing a better sound system for my car? I must admit I know nothing. I think I know what satellite radio to get, but I need a sub woofer and that other shit u need to get to make the sound better. Links would be nice. I'm thinking about spending somewhere around 300.

ebay

buy everything there cheap, go with 1 12 with like 1000 watt max, and get door speakers. do you already have a head unit?

no way i have 2 12in and it sounds so much cleaner and more balanced than my friends, and yea get like a 1000-1200 watt amp, as for speakers just go to like tweeters or even best buy and see whats best for your car, as for head units..just whatever you like

Can you please send me a link to ones at Best Buy that you thnik would be good on a 2002 Subaru w/ a stock radio right now. I'm planning on buying a satellite radio (w/ subscribtion to sirius) which has an AUX.

Really, i have no dea what to get. I need model names please.

ok, for 300 bucks you can't get stuff from best buy, sorry. i can show you a set up that you could do for cheap thought if you want?

usually you cant connect an amp to a stock head unit cause there are no pre outs, an if you can, it will be crappy quality. get a head unit, i prefer alpine, you dont need anythig fancy, for 200 you can get one w/ 2 sets of preouts, meaning you can run 2 amps, one for subs, one for doors. it will also play wma and mp3s, which i love. subs and speakers and amps all depend on if you want big booom or sharpquality or a nice mix of both, also how much $$ you have,

first thing you gotta do, change the head unit, that will make the biggest difference,

then i would recommend gettin a sub no smaller than twelve inches and hook it up to a quality amp,

swap shops are a great place to get the shit cheap

i rock a 7 inch screen headunit right now and a fifteen inch sub powered by a 2000 watt amp, and my sound system kills,

First, you're gonna need a decent HU which will run you 200-300 minimum new. Get a good quality sub running about 500 rms (alpine type-r is a good all purpose sub) and drive it with an appropriately rated amp. You probably don't need to amp your speakers, but if you have factory speakers you should at least get some new speakers on the cheaper side too. Installing the sub and amp is pretty easy, I'd definitely recommend doing it yourself.

Get this 60inch MTX sub, and put it in your car.. You would blow everyone away.
