Impeach Trump

Mueller didn’t want to issue the indictment. So now we have to wait for the report to slowly make its way through the political sphere. I just want the justice department to give their opinion on the full report.

By the time it ever happens, it will be after the 2020 election. I'd rather have him run again so he loses cuz he will. So many foolish Republicans (the educated ones. Not the rednecks) who voted for him last time definitely don't want to vote for him again.

Sure, it you'd like the legacy of the Democratic party from 2016-2020 to be as such:

We did absolutely nothing at all but complain and try to impeach the President. Oh, and we gained AOC as a Congress Woman. Imagine reading that in 50 years and thinking "What the fuck is this shit?" Didn't like the President so they threw a 4 year hissy fit?

Im a cynic, but I live in this country so here's my 2 cents on politics these days.

These are the two major problems regarding politics in this country explained clearly and succinctly by Pearls before swine

In case you dont like comics, it's media furthering partisanship for profit and no limit to money from large corporations in politics. We dont live in a democracy anymore, its all a sham and has been since the supreme court decided that corporations are people too and can donate as much as they want to any political cause. These things need to change for there to be any hope of progress, starting with the separation of money and politics

Politics is getting shittier every year. At least in terms of it being all over social media.

People getting outraged and wanting to kill each other. Also reminds me of middle aged sports fanatics which I also try hard to avoid.

Rarara go team! Yea! Wow!

Every fucking news update on this situation is always too vague for a consistent conclusion to be made and then both parties spin it so that it seems like he did or didn't collude or whatever. Enough of this bullshit. Can we just elect someone else in 2020 who acts like a mature adult and is willing to reach across the aisle?

Probably not tho, can't wait for a fucking hardcore socialist to be prez next. [clown emoji]

Social media "politics" is all about who can make the funniest/most "savage" roast instead of who actually has the better argument.

Couldn't agree more. Fucking spot on

As one who neither identifies with being democratic or republican I can say this sums up a lot of the past 4 years. More people need to seee this “4 year hissy fit” should go up on billboards. Not saying the Democrats are any less.. but come on they really could have done better

Yeah going through impeachment prceedings is exactly what this country needs. Need to get all the moderates together and get a decent candidate into office in 2020.

Is anyone here actually read in on the trump/russia fairytale or has everyone just been consuming headlines for the last 3 years?

I don't know where you got a stance from my comment, not a Trump fan either. But sure, go that route. You're basically a perfect example for my comment about doing nothing at all to further the situation.

It was the faulting of the dems and the random irrelevant mention of AOC that convinced me. I’ve literally never met a dem or centrist who brings her up out of nowhere, there’s just no reason to...

the 2016-2020 legacy of the GOP will be that they went all in on a pathological liar who doesn’t read, can’t spell, trusts Facebook posts over scientists, actively works against climate change action, vilifies the free press, inscrutably cozies up to despot leaders of shithole countries, picks fights with our allies and the IC.....

notice that nothing i mentioned is even an ideological position, it’s just stuff off the top of my head that yesteryear’s GOP wouldn’t even consider supporting. The dude is just a clown and if the dems elected the equal opposite the GOP would have a “”hissy fit””....no, they’d literally have a stroke and I wouldn’t blame them one bit

i work in medical research and have respect for the hard sciences and vote for people who aren’t career con men and who don’t tell 10,000 verifiable lies in their time as potus and have read one single fucking history book in their life. I assure you I’m not a “perfect example” of someone who’s the issue here

Fuck off with your “I’m not a trump fan, I just defend him on Internet forums for kicks and instead fault the other side” act, I don’t believe it for a second

If that’s true and you’re not a trump fan, what would you suggest they do? Let’s hear it, you bull shitter. I’m sure your “totally not a trump fan” brain has some strategic brilliance to share

I would love to hear what you think the Democrats could have done differently

I'm not sure impeachment makes a difference at this point. I mean with 2020 elections on the horizon and also the fact that if he gets re-elected impeachment would just destabilize the US even more.

We are at the point where Great Britain was in the 1800's-1900's, wealthy, powerful, and seemingly unbeatable. But some type of destabilization could put us where the Brits are today, average.

I think impeachment will get shut down in the senate and even if it happened then pence would be president and and anyone had a better chance than trump. Better a demo next term, the lesser of two evils. When his term is over, he's screwed. Like Cohen and maniford.

I didn't vote for the guy in 2016, nor do I plan to in 2020, but considering impeachment would not pass the senate, his approval rating would only go up, just like Bill Clinton's did following his impeachment hearings that failed at the senate. Trump would literally base his campaign on the fact that they tried and failed to impeach him over obstruction of justice, which was over a probe that didn't find evidence that he colluded with Russia, regardless if he didn't or not.

IMO it sucks but let's ride this one out and maybe try not to fall for fake populism this time around :)

She's a blatant idiot who is a Democrat. No better example of a bad Congressperson exists right now. What better example can I give when mentioning Democratic legacy. You then wrote about the dumb things Trump does that are indeed very stupid, I agree. I did not vote for Trump either, but you decided to call me a liar because you have the liberty of saying literally anything you want online and chose to take that route.

Next you told me to fuck off? Because it's the internet I guess? Calm down dude...

And then you wrote an incomplete question while weaving in a few insults. I think you are asking me what I think Congress should do and that I think is simple.

1. Stop blaming the President for all your problems. Congress makes up 1/3 of the government and they are the 1/3 that consistently fails to work together and do the basic administration stuff they get paid to do such as pass budgets. Make tough decisions and compromise, we are all going to win and lose together.

2. Steer clear of platforms of radical change. Historically low unemployment, historically high market value, and wars that the average citizen doesn't even realize are going on indicate the system works right now for the average America. There are countless bad issues to focus on (popular ones are student debt and why the government is the only entity that gives those loans anymore, health insurance, taxes of course, and civil rights). Radical policy that addresses absolutely all of it at once is un-executable and wastes so much tax payer money on known failed ideas that it's not even funny. The magic wand "I will write a law to get rid of all the bad" approach inherently meets massive resistance and clutters media with bullshit. It stifles real progress and compromise.

3. Do the simplest parts of your job on time. Budgets can't be late. Congress people can't use the Executive branch's ranting and raving as a shield for their inability to perform. Congress men and women can't squander public funding due to an inability to work together or work at all.

4. Maintain some semblance of credibility and stop forcing Americans to pay you to be an idiot. For example, there is no excuse for calling in bank executives with the objective of accusing them of creating a student loan problem on television when banks haven't issued a student loan in a decade. There is no excuse for not understanding the issue and then writing legislation just to look busy.

dude you know damn well i asked what the dems should have done differently (based on your initial response), not for a smattering of hackneyed general comments on gridlock in the congress as a whole. you also know that trump had both chambers for 2 years, and still has the senate brought to heel now so the dems are pretty much powerless

you might not love trump but you're clearly willing to vilify the dems more than him because it suits your ideological positions. this "i don't support him but the dems are the real problem, and by the way AOC is a she-devil!" stuff is transparent as hell

i didn't say "fuck off" because it's the internet, i said it because you're being a bullshitter and acting offended when i don't fall for it. it's my fault for even biting the bait and responding, let's cut our losses here haha

Ya great conversation...

It's pretty fucking simple dude. I voted for Gary Johnson, AOC is a fucking idiot so why did you spend even a second defending her, and the last time I checked the word "Congress" describes the entire legislative branch.

You are accusing me of all kinds of stupid bullshit because you want to hear what you want to hear. "Haha"

you know what trump ain't that bad but APPARENTLY I CAN'T GIVE MY OPINIONS ON NS BECAUSE MY POSTS WILL GET DELETED WITHOUT ANYONE TELLING ME!!!!!

Answer the question douche bag. What should the democrats have done differently when the GOP had the majority in the senate and the house?

Hahaha so not only was I correct about your leanings, that also explains why an inept leader isn’t an issue to you but the big bad dems are despite being out of power

Your constant AOC hate is weird but I should just be happy you can name a congressperson I guess ?

As long as social media, corporate entertainment and false consciousness do their job; people will put up with just about anything if they are entertained enough.

Why did the Arab spring occur? Social media got blacked out by government. Before that, nobody was going to do anything.

So keep consuming media people, the opium of the status quo brings stability to the power hungry.
