Im starting a ski club at my College

I'm going to Penn State Harrisburg and in the process of starting up the ski/snowboard club here. just wonder if any one has started one at there campus and if they can provide any advise

also if anyone on here attends that school and is interested let me know
 
My high school has a race team but not a club to just ski around hit the park and have fun. We tried to start it but the principle said there is way too much liability in it
 
yea i don't think the liability will be much of an issue, kinda just wondering if other people have started ones at there smaller colleges and how it turned out

as a penn stater that just graduated from main campus and was involved a little in the ski and snowboard club, get in touch with them and grow it through them.

please do not use sandusky on ANYTHING. you fucking idiot.
 
I go to Colby college and we have a freeride team here, known commonly as Colby Freeride (CFR). While we aren't diddling each other, we pass the time by organizing twerk contests and ingesting hallucinogens. Abe Krieger is our hired filmer but we don't make any edits because that is a waste of time and we need to get ready for comp/diddling season. Hot dad action for all!!

I started one when I was in school.

Biggest piece of advice is this:

Have members rank their skiing/riding skill and emphasize the need for them to be honest.

Then have them touch on the type of riding they're into.

My biggest issue was the days when I had one park skier, one pow snowboarder, one major gaper, and one mogul enthusiast in the van going up to the mountains.

.....we all skied alone and it defeated the purpose.
 
I'm sort of the 2nd generation ski and board club exec member at umaine orono. All the guys above me started the club in '09, started from the ground. Had to put a bit of their own personal funds into it but once they got grants from student gov they were able to get going. The big thing we do is host coach bus trips to Sugarloaf. Try and get some sort of scheduled transportation to a local mountain. Other than that, host a movie premier to two, try and get free swag from companies to give out, spread the stoke!
 
The ski club at my school had a long history but had fallen to almost non existent membership. A few of close friends and I tried to get the club going again. We joined up with another campus for our big ski trip during winter break. Since we joined up with anther ski club we went from maybe 50 people going to being in a group of 300+. The Big trip along with parties and events like broom ball are how we gained most of our members. We also made tee shirts and sweatshirts that were very recognizable. This made our club have a presence on campus which brought even more members. Being a e board member of the club was one of the best things i did in college.
