Im pretty confused about the Aspen Grand Prix?

This might be a really stupid question, but from the recent article on NS/insta posts it seemed like it was 1. Andri Ragettli 2. Ferdinand Dahl 3. Oystein

But then there were posts pretty soon thereafter showing Gus celebrating winning the Aspen Open in Slope with Nick Goepper and Evan MC on the podium

What am I missing here??

AFO winning was the FIS World Cup Grand Prix, GNE was an Olympic Qualifying Grand Prix held the day after.....it was to make up for one that was cancelled last Feb

It's also confusing because Newschoolers didn't bother to do a write up on it even though it was a major event

The Aspen Open, which I believe was the comp on Sunday, was apparently not even being livestreamed (even though they said it was going to be) therefore it's pretty hard to do a write up about it.

Note: I wasn't planning on doing the write up nor was I working Sunday. I'm going off what others were saying in our group chat in regards to comp coverage.

Yeah NS seems a have almost completely abandoned the comp scene.

Yea, we definitely abandoned it by posting 4 articles in the past 5 days about the event.

Saturday was a "world cup" event, it was live streamed, results were posted immediately (live scoring as well) so it was very easy to cover remotely. The "grand prix" event on sunday had no stream, no live scoring and they still haven't posted official results on the ussa website. Because there was basically nothing online for the event, we couldn't put anything together.

Why was the course so lame? It was like a flat rail, dfd, gap to down rail up top, a rail on top of a qp, and then 3 jumps that were not very big. You'd think they would up the size of things a bit for an Olympic Qualifier.

I'm guessing that they had a lack of snow, CO isn't doing great. Thats really the only reason it was so poor, looking forward to watching the contest in mammoth this weekend, but knowing mammoth the weather is gonna suck.

I personally thought the lack of a 3rd rail feature was a fuck up. That just doesn't make sense to me. There was a big gap when they could have had something.

I agree. It was a really awkward and small course. People didn't really throw down that hard on it either (IMHO).

The weather is always brutal in mammoth this time of year, snowy, windy, aka not idea for a contest. Remember the GP last year they ended up just cancelling?

They aired Sundays Slope replay last night on NBCsports.com at 11pm EST but they don't have a replay of the event online yet.
