this is a rant.

i work on a freelance basis. i had a called time of 6:30am this morning. meaning i have to get up at 5:15.

i get home at 11 last night, set my alarm and go to bed. next thing i know, i wake up and its 10:35.

MY PHONE SHUT OFF. causing the alarm to NOT go off. so i had to call and sound like an idiot with the LAMEST GAY ASS EXCUSE ever, even though its 100% true.

I also need the money too, so now thats a paycheck down the drain.. all because of technology..

I have a "SMART PHONE" but it cant even turn itself back on if an alarm is set?? pretty sure nokias old brick phone did that 10 years ago.

seriously. fuck this. end rant.

That sucks but if your job depends that much on getting up at a specific time then you should probably be setting two alarms

it doesnt die due to lack of battery. it just random kills itself. its stupid.

and yea, i'm gonna get a real alarm clock now.

that used to happen to my HTC as well, not anymore though. It just randomly recovered and stopped acting up. I probably jinxed it by posting this now.

I have to set 3 alarm clocks placed in different parts of my room to be able to get up in the morning, and I often ask someone to wake me up if anyones home. I dont trust my neanderthal self with important, basic shit like waking up early. Plus, in the winter and spring my body is in constant bear mode so I can easily sleep for +12 hours unless someone shake my sleepy body silly. Hibernation is such a bitch.

But yeah, sucks so hard to oversleep like that and panic when realising what time it is.

i've never had to set two alarms for fear of sleeping through one. one alarm will wake me up... if it goes off....

Happened to me the other morning (HTC incredible)

Was attempting to wake up for sunrise at Bryce Canyon to shoot some photos and had my phone shut off so it wouldn't be gettin' dead during the cold night. Did not turn on. Thankfully a friend's iPhone alarm went off. blackberries do that shii. I guess you'll have to buy a whole new phone just for the alarm system.

i mean, obviously an alarm clock is the answer. but lets be honest, how many people use strictly their phones??

i had a motorola smart phone before, and it never failed waking me up in the morning. but this htc that i have now suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

you slept for 11.5 hours???

If you have to get up at 5:15am you probably shouldn't be going to bed so late.

its hard to keep a regular sleep schedule in my line of work. call time could be 6:30am or it could be 10pm and working till 3am.

Oh I use my phone for my alarm clock but I was just saying you don't have to buy a new phone just for an alarm clock..

that'd be pretty cool. i dont think you can buy it tho.. couldnt find a price on any of the links.

This thing will roll away and hide:

This thing is simple, dependable and will work on a single battery for 8+ years:

My parents wake me up. I don't have a job. I have an iphone. I also have an ihome. I guess I'm all set.

I was skeptical at first but back in 2009 you could try it out for 30 days, so I thought: why not? And it works for me, even do I'm the opposite of a morning person.
