Basically... I have a boat load of questions...

First off - Does anyone have any information on becoming a NZ citizen coming from the US??

second - As far as park skiing goes, where would be the best MT of choice??

third! - Anyone know of where is the best place to live??

Best park skiing would be in Wanaka at either Cardrona or Snow Park, so you'd probably want to live somewhere nearby. If you don't live in Wanaka its about 30 min from Queenstown to cardies (theres also two other fields in queenstown). It's a 3 hour drive from Dunedin or 4.5ish from Christchurch (which also has a ski area not too far away, Mt Hutt)

I think you have to be a resident with a job for 5 years or something before you can apply to be a citizen. You'll be able to find out more about it on this site http://www.dia.govt.nz/

Why do you want to become a citizen?

you need to hold a job thats on the skills shortage to get residency... or marry in.

my bfs dad has lived in nz for like 25 years and still only have residency.

You want to become a NZ citizen, I want to become an U.S citizen. I can see a solution here....

But realistically, residency gets you everything you need. You don't gain much by getting citizenship.

For park skiing, Cardrona, Remarkables, and Snow park are definitely the places you want to be. Wanaka and Queenstown are super fun towns to live in too, lots of skiers and partying to be had at either.

Christchurch/Canterbury has some sick big mtn terrain but not much in the way of park. It's actually a city, unlike Wanaka/Queenstown.
