I'm getting a Xbox 360 - In need of advice

So i just sold my Wii and im getting a Xbox 360. I have about 300$ to spend. I figure i can get a system with a 20 GB for about 150$. The only way i'm gonna get MW2, is if i can get live. To get live, for one i need to buy it, and second i need a wireless adapter. Can i use any wireless adapter? Or do I have to buy an Xbox adapter? Which adapter is the best range-wise? Also, any other game suggestions? Thanks!
 
You don't need a wireless adapter if you have the ethernet cord i think its called that plugs in the back of your xbox. The cord is like 10 dollars maybe.
 
if you don't have friends that play mw2 get a ps3. if all your friends have xbox get an xbox.

I'd get the elite, they're pretty cheap now. you can usually find xbox live cards for $30

i'm the other way around, the only time I play xbox is when my friends are on, playing games by yourself gets boring.
 
Get the Elite. It's worth the money. It has 120 GB HDD. If you are going to put TV shows and demos on it, them definitely buy an Elite. If not, just get the Arcade and use the extra money to buy games and controllers.
 
i've had live for a super long time, and never paid for a wireless adapter
this is what i do instead:
1. bring my laptop downstairs2. plug an ethernet cord into the laptop from the xbox3. make sure the laptop is plugged in (for some reason it has to be) and is using wifi4. turn on xbox, pwn n00bs.
 
This works, you just have to bridge your wireless and ethernet connections, which is fairly simple if you know what youre doing.

You better shut your mouth, my 360 is still running and in use every weekend. Nothin gets the boys more hyped than playing nuke town on bo2

My 360 is running Skate 2 so hard these days. Like literally running hard, it sounds like an obese guy trying to run a marathon
 
I was at a friend's house the other day and we broke out the 360 and played some halo reach. Trip down memory lane to be sure

playing ps4 at a friend's house and it sounds like a flippin jet engine. xbox reigns supreme
