yeah so thats it. for the past two seasons ive been out skiing learning a ton of new stuff in the past like rodeo 7s and 9s, and a ton of corks and bios. but last year i got hurt, i broke my ankle at the end of the season. and today sadly my mcl is shot to shit, and along with other random concussions, broken wrists fingers and shit like that. Now im sick of getting hurt. im not scared i just dont wanna be out of the game anymore. so my question is. what can i do to still be really involved with skiing without getting fucked up real bad?

kbus1224: i see how it is, ski movie more important than me?

npublicenemy900: no not the whole movie just Iannick B.

Stick to what you know best and feel absolutley comfortable with. If you get a spurt of adrenaline... do something you've done before but tricker... damn tricky tricks.

'I bought an antfarm once. Them fellers didn't grow shit'.

ya man, if you've thrown down hard before just take it easy for a while. concentrate on just being real stylie and smooth on smaller spins, just go huge. you don't have to throw down hard to be sick.

perfect everything thats not insane, then you will be less likely to screw yourself when you do decide to go for something like a rodeo 9.

Stick to what you know and grab some friends. I have more fun rollin' with my crew screwing with people, throwing snowballs, and generally having fun then I do learning the to be the sickest guy on the hill. Grab a couple of good snowballs, a couple for ur friends, and peg the first gaper you see.

like people said, just perfect what you know already, and make it look really styly. If you dont wanna do that, you could focus on backcountry skiing or racing or something, and then after a while come back to jumping more

yeah but thats it. today i got hurt doing a freakin cork 5. ive done 22234582 of them before. and my ankle last year was just overshooting a big table. im thinkin just help coach. im only 17 but why the hell not try for the little freeride kids

What's with bridgerbowl being such a fucking asshole in every post. Don't you have anything better to say or are you just bitter about being such a boner.

This year I hope to see more kids incorporating newschool with big mountain riding and getting out of the park.-Matt Levintal

Go with the teacher/coach idea. We need people to teach the youngins the correct way to ride park. That's what I have ben doing, and it is very rewarding and fun.

I think thatOTHERguy has a good point, both PSIA and CSIA are running freeskiing programs, and a lot of areas do not have people that are experienced enough to teach em. It might be worthwhile to look into instructing with a focus on teaching freeskiing.

life is too short to have any regrets

coaching would be good i guess,

getting hurt is fucking oldschool

so yea just doing stylish shits and coaching kids would help the sport prolly just as much as if you were gonna continue to learn bigger tricks and hurt yourself.

hope ya recover soon

Look at mike douglas.. hes 30 something and hes still tickin'... Just stay out of the park for a bit, ski some pow, build booteers where its soft. I think progression is taking us out of the park for a reason....

i dissaprove of teaching the ways of freeskiing, because freeskiing is all about teaching yourself, learing from pros and your friends.
