I'm confused

I keep seeing these licence plates in Utah that say "Greatest Snow on Earth", but now on NS I see these advertisements for Big White ski resort that say "Best Snow in North America"...these contradictory statements are really bewildering, what's going on?

but yeah, it seems everyone thinks their mountain and their snow is the best. I've never skied in utah but I can tell you the powder in the interior is pretty damn good.
 
its all a matter of opinion, but its just advertising, i bet utah patented* the best snow on earth slogan so no-one else can have that one.
*is that the right word?

not sure if Utah trademarked it..but they were sued by Barnum & Bailey circus because they had trademarked the phrase "Greatest Show on Earth"...however, Utah won that case since "Greatest Snow on Earth" does not dilute the circus brand.
 
It depends on your opinion of "Great snow", but I think if you're talking water content, Utah really is literally the greatest snow on earth. I've not skied Japan, nor do I know a ton about their snow, but Utah is messed up good
 
I don't know Rich..that advertisement on NS is awfully convincing. ...I mean, it has a picture of a guy doing a grab and it says in plain English that theirs is the best in north america... would they lie in an advertisement?
 
Big White Ski Resort!?!?!?!?! LOL! Why don't they just call it Aryan Paradise! They're nothing but a bunch of racist anyway. Who cares what they say.
 
We get lots of rain but most of our precip falls as snow. Mt Baker has the world record for measured snowfall in one season with over 1140in. That would be 110in of rain at a 10:1 ratio but the only place in washington where that much actually falls as rain is Forks and there aren't many skiers there. Most of the rest of the west side & lower elevations of the state gets 20-40 inches of rain annually.
