Ive found the tgr forum is way to Fuckin big. Every thread seems to either vanish into the depths with maybe 2 responses or have 800+ pages. Doesnt really feel like a community unless youve been in it for 10 years or so.

I really like how certain people on here make fun of "TGR Guys" for having all new gear and spending money on lavish vacations to ski towns all over the world. Maybe I am getting older than most Newschooler members, but the people that can do this are keeping a struggling snow sports industry afloat a whole lot more than a sell trade section on Newschoolers. Nothing against either party, but everyone has their own way of skiing...that's why we have our site and they have theirs.
 
I'm not a big park guy but prefer ns all the way. the tgr forums are much more confusing and when i asked how to start a thread for a question i got called a Jong. Funny now that I look back but at the time I just wanted to ask a simple question and the people were annoying

Same here, I skied park a lot as a teenager but don't fuck with it as much these days. NS is way chiller, if you ask a dumb question or post to the wrong forum you won't have your life threatened by a dentist from Houston.
 
My guess is that TGR has far more guys who can handle the Fingers than NS does. And I would actually say people on NS suck pro dick much harder. Skiers on TGR really don't give a fuck about park pros, and many don't care about the big mountain pros all that much. NS sucked Wallisch's dick WAAAY harder than TGR ever sucked on anyone. Overall people on TGR care far less about pro skiing than people on NS, in general.

I would agree that many are weekend warriors who ski 40 days a year. I'm one of them. I lived in the mountains for half a decade and I am happy with where I am now. I loved my time in the mountains, but it was time to leave. There are lots of very bitter older people in ski towns, I didn't want to be one of them.

Someone said TGR lampoons itself far better than NS. This thread is evidence of that.
