Im a bitch- an ACL story

ACL surgery tommorow. Not gunna lie...a lil nervous, I get to stay awake and watch their every move on a tv screen. Im kinda worried cause they are taking my hamstring and my right leg is still no where near as strong as my left. So by the time I start walking again my leg is gunna look like a noodle compared to my left one. Plus there is the possibility they are going to remove my meniscuses (sp?)

Who's had this surgery before? I know many 'a skiers have done the same damage. If so.... scale of 1-10 how bad is it be honest.

my friend had her ACL surgery this winter, she was pretty out of it for a couple days after because was strung out on the drugs, which made her sick.

its pretty tough to deal with mentally, but most of it is in your head, the physical pain isn't so bad.

Good luck!

had ACL surgery one month ago.i was knocked out for the entire thing, but i fuckin woke up too early in recovery before they gacve me my femeral block. so i had no pain medds in me, and i ahd been out of surgeyr for 30 minutes. i started to flip out from the pain, and bent the safty bars on the bed, and needed 5 doctors to come and hold me down. then then stuck a huge needle in ym leg and i passed right out. the pain meds kept me out of the pain for about 3 days but then when they start to wear off, hate to tell you but prepair for the worste pain you will ever experience in your life. ou will not be able to sleep. to move your leg over an inch, you have to have someone help you move your entire body. any sideways motion will fucking kill. was not able to walk for a week, then another 2 with shit loads of pain. about 3 weeks post op before you can walk, with slight limp. prepair for a long ass recovery, and say goodbye to summer. but 6 months rehab, and if you work hard in P.T. you will be able to ski. sorry to scare the shit out of you with that story but its the truth man. goodluck with that shit.

why would you want to watch that?

is that there method o knocking yo out?

making you pass out from the horror of watching your leg get taken apart?

thats pretty sweet being able to watch the surgery, itd kinda be scary though, the only thing i got from my surgery was photos (in my photos if you want to see em)
but yeah best of luck to you, and dont be a pussy about getting it back to normal, cause i was and it put wayyyy back in my recovery phase, but its all good now...

i had that surgery done a few months ago shits easy why dont you just get knocked out so much nicer the drugs are sick too make sure you are on all day and get skate 2 that shit saved my life

i had ACL surgery on my left knee exactly 1 week ago. I was knocked out for the procedure, but i would have liked to see what it looked like on the tv. your obviously not going to be feeling any of it.
to be brutally honest, your leg is going to be too weak after the surgery to be worrying about what it looks like and how strong it is. your leg is going to be extremely weak, thats what all of the rehab is for and thats why its such a long recovery process. but trust me, im going through it, youll make it through it and once you are cleared to resume sports and stuff YOUR KNEE WILL BE STRONGER THAN IT WAS BEFORE.
just stick to your doctors orders and good luck.
