I’m 5’7 about 135-140 lbs deciding if It’s a good idea and worth to buy a ski that’s goes over my head. The Line Chronics 2014 that are 178 cm would this work out if i’m trying to find a playful and ski that I can ski park with

if you are buying a dedicated park ski, then maybe, id size up tho.

I'm also all-mtn bro and love the stability of buying a longer ski, at 5'9 my 180 park skis feel too little too often. I also clock in at your weight.

Yes no problem I'm a similar size and ride everything from 170 to 185. If you don't like them just sell them and get something else.

Just worried since I currently ski 164 arws from armada, they’ve been good for me since they’re an all mountain ski made for anything i’ve been skiing. But I just want something that has more of a pop and lighter feeling to. i’ve been skiing these all season basically but I want a park dedicated ski so yeah, Wouldn’t It take some time getting used to these?

Hey OP, sorry you’re getting a lot of troll answers. Sucks our community acts like this towards new skiers.

to answer your question seriously, based on your weight and height I would probably not get a 178 since you’re looking to start park skiing. You generally should size down on a park ski. Line makes the chronic in a 171 and that would be perfect since it’s at your exact height.

having a longer ski is going to just make it more difficult in the park since you have more weight and tip to clear, especially over a rail. You’ll also notice most pro freestyle skiers are using skis at their height or lower. And for reference I’m 5’10” and my two park skis are 176 and 178.

Let me know if you have any questions and happy to help you.

Yep you can be in the 178 range. My first pair of park skis were a 2012 salomon suspect in 161 or something. If its a good deal, go for it. Trying different pairs and types of skis helps your skiing, and makes you have more fun.

These are off Facebook market so Im worried about losing a deal since I plan to pay 280 for these. They come with marker-free ten bindings. In general, Im just trying to find a ski to ride all mountain half the time and hit park the other half. Would this be acceptable?

Since you ski park, and you're basically my height and weight. Is it difficult to hit rails? whats your experience been in skiing park?

For the price this is a great option. Sure you could spend more and size up with other skis. If you’re trying to save as much as possible and these are within your budget. Get em. Ski em. And keep an eye out in the future for something larger.

These skis are 10 years old at this point so their value is basically zero, so you’re essentially paying $280 for just the bindings. I don’t think it’s that good of a deal. Of course it would be acceptable to ski something taller than you, but ideally I think 171 would be better for you considering you want to get started park skiing.

shouldn’t be hard to find a good deal at this point in the season.

These are $100 skis maybe. For $280 you can look at a lot of other options.

5"4 140. always ride 178s. ive had a few pairs of 161s, way too small unless im doing straight park. if doing any freeride or all mountain stuff, while traveling i will opt for the 185 size for more stability.
