Illegal Immigration is currently a large problem in the United States. Illegal immigrants (mostly from Mexico) are coming over the border and residing in the U.S. They either come alone or bring their family. While the kids go to public schools (which we pay for), their parents steal our jobs by working for lower wages. The illegal immigrants reap all the benefits of living in the United States without paying taxes or contributing anything.

A lot of people think that illegal immigrants with jobs help contribute to our economy. However, this is not true. After receiving their paycheck, most illegal immigrants usually send the money back to their families in Mexico (if they’re families are not already here). This takes away money from the U.S. and rewards Mexico.

Therefore, we should not let illegal immigrants into our country. Of course it is necessary to allow some immigration, but there has to be a limit. Just like how you wouldn’t open your doors to let whoever wants to come inside your home, the U.S. can’t open its borders to illegal immigrants.

 
It's a myth that illegal immigrants don't pay taxes. They pay income taxes, property taxes, etc. often without many of the rewards that citizens are able to use (welfare for example). Also, I find it odd that people blame the immigrants for working for lower wages and without benefits. Instead of punishing them, why not work on punishing the businesses that pay them less than minimum wage and don't allow them to use any of the rights workers should have.
 
I meant sales taxes instead of income taxes. I'm not sure whether they pay income taxes. My assumption is that they don't, but I don't know.
 
Steal our jobs? Are you serious? Yeah I mean i know I aspire to work in mcdonalds for the rest of my life or do landscaping, those damn mexicans take all of those great jobs! Also, there is no way to stop illegal immigrants. Unless we spend millions, more likely billions of dollars on protecting our boarders and searching and deporting immigrants, there is no way to stop this. Personally, I don't really see what the big deal is. The only thing that does piss me off is when you call a phone number for a company and its in spanish first and then english. It is America, immigrants should make an effort to learn English whether they are legal or illegal in my opinion. Illegal immigrants are not as big a problem as other things in this country.
 
Do you know how many homeless people need jobs? And landscaping isn't that bad of a business. And if they want to come to America in search of better opprotunitys, why don't they just do it the legal way and save us the hassle?
 
Yes I know how many homeless people need jobs, and they could easily get a job if they wanted. The problem with homeless people is a HUGE percent of them are mentally ill, don't have a permanent residence, and most importantly, aren't motivated to get a job. If a homeless person was not mentally ill and actually wanted to get a job, they would have no problem getting a job. Why don't they come to America the legal way? They would, but the waiting list for a legal visa from Mexico to the US can be years long. Put yourself in their situation, would you honestly wait that long to get a job and support your family when you could do it right away, just illegally? i ddnt really reasearch anything, its just personal ideas and waht i've heard. They do take jobs from americans. Businesses will hire them over other people because they do not have to 1) pay payroll taxes for each illegal they hire. 2) they do not have to pay social security and FICA taxes, 3) pay workers comp if someone gets hurt. 4) they don't have to pay minimum wage. Jobs like construction and landscaping arent bad jobs either.
 
because they broke our immigration laws. If i tried to unlawfully enter canada i am pretty sure they would punish me
 
I'm not saying we shouldn't enforce our immigration laws. But if we want to make progress on the situation, the better way to go is to regulate ethical business practices.

But seriously, they are breaking the law, I understand they are suffering and need a better place to live but seriously Mexico should be paying for it, NOT the united states! Yet with millions of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. It's costing US money and Mexico doesn't have to worry about shit!

Everyone was an immigrant but not an illegal immigrant. Theres laws in place for a reason. Its just not plausible to let everyone come to the U.S. In recent years there has been a surge of mexicans coming over from the border and we're the ones paying for it. They have to teach eveyr class in english and spanish. The indians might have owned the land first but we said fuck you and took it. They tried to stop us and we said no. Now the mexicans are trying to take our land and I'm saying fuck you. You can't let other people walk all over you. Its not fair that I'm upper middle class and there dirt poor but lifes a bitch. I don't feel like paying for these poor ass crime-ridden mexicans.
 
Illegal immigrants aren't taking away anyones jobs. They're taking the shitass jobs that pay 2 dollars an hour that noone is gonna take because they all expect minimum wage.

how old are you? 12? who teaches every class in english and spanish? i didnt get to take a secondary language until 8th grade. i know kids in elementary school that are taking japanese, or hebrew, or french. that has no bearing; if kids are taught a second language at a younger age, its easier for them to learn, and last i checked, being bilingual is not a bad thing. and the native americans? that has nothing to do with this either. we were trying to gain land for our country at that time. in no way am i justifying the way we did it, but it was done. the mexican immigrants are not trying to overthrow our government and steal away california for their own, they're trying to provide a better life for their families, just as my great grandparents did by coming to this country on a boat about 150 years ago. if you feel like working at taco bell or kfc or whatever job you think mexicans stole from you, go for it. i have no problems with them making infinitely more than they would have working in mexico, even if they are underpaid by our standards, because to them, its a shit ton of money. plus, it keeps stuff cheap for those of us who aren't living in shanties. on the same note, at the jersey shore every year, you have hundreds of teenagers coming here to work minimum wage shit jobs on the boardwalk so that when they go back to their own countries at the end of the summer, they live like kings. sure, they probably have student work visas, but wouldnt you be just as pissed if you were dead set on working the ring toss for the summer?

im pretty sure a couple of my dads workers are illegal "he owns a landscaping business" but they are much beter workers than any white guy he has hired they actualy do teh work unlike the americans that just procrastinate and sit there with tehre thumb in their ass
 
There are MUCH more problems and MANY more reasons the upper middle class pays high taxes. Illegal immigration has about the impact of a rock thrown at a skyscraper compared the the spending in Iraq. Illegal immigration really isn't that big of a problem. It's just media blown up.
 
I think its sad that any of you actually think its ok to let these fuckin boarder jumpers into our country. they take our jobs and our money and it pisses me right off. yeah you say they take the shit jobs that pay nothing, but think of the young kids that cant get much jobs besides mcdonalds or whatever until they are a little older. but now they wont or cant cause they cant fucking speak enough spanish to communicate with the rest of em. some points:

a lot of immigrants in my area (boston) turn to painting etc.

I wouldnt call painting, construction, carpentry, etc. jobs "people dont want."

What happens is some douche bag hires immigrants, pays them shit $$, and they do a shitty job. This puts other painting companies out of business as they cant pay their workers such shit wages as well as not giving them medical insurance and not pay taxes etc. Its obviously the guy hiring the illegals as much as the illegals themselves. Either way, it has to stop.

2nd. A lot of illegals are having children which then in turn become legal US citizens. They cant afford healthcare, so they turn to medicaid and other gov't assisted healthcare programs. Basically, they get healthcare for free. THis costs me and you a lot of money. These children are also placed into school systems. These children now take up more space in schools creating more and more crowded school systems which will need more programs (teaching english, SPED, for example). The parents avoid the income tax which mostly pays for education stuff, etc. Basically, my tax $$ pays for their children to learn while they dont pay shit.

Housing. I live on a street with a shitload of triple deckers that rent out to many MANY immigrants. The renters get absolutely screwed. Many illegals stuff 20-30 people onto a floor. THey pay the same rent but illegally fit as many of their illegal buddies in the house. This is absolute HELL on the landlords as they usually destroy the building. If heat/water is included in the lease the landlord is absolutely FUCKED as 20 people per day will take a shower. Also, with so many people stuffed into small apartments, they go ahead and buy sheetrock creating smaller rooms inside rooms and essentially destroy the place. If you're a landlord, you know how difficult it is to get people evicted!! Also, as a landlord you have to give a 24 hour notice if you're going to visit your property. THis 24 hour notice gives the illegals enough time to make it only look like a few people live there in which the landlord cant use as evidence to evict them....

PLUS with so many people stuffed into a house they create a SHITLOAD of waste. The sidewalks are packed with trash on trashdays and guess who has to pay the city to pick up the trash? ME.

These are just a few examples, there are many more out there.

To say illegal immigrants have no effect on our economy is BS.

I have no problem with people bettering their lives for themselves and their families; all our grandparents/great grandparents/whoever the fuck else has done it. The difference is they did it LEGALLY and paid their dues. Most of these illegals are cheating the system and fucking things up for the rest of us and WE'RE paying for it.
 
in a way thats true but up in Big Sky Montana where i ususally work most of them get payed under the table which means that its up to the employer to write them a 1099 form at the end of the tax season or just forget about it and most of them forget about it because its less stress and less paperwork.
 
True, but does that change the fact that they pay sales tax on everything, or property taxes on their homes, and are still ineligible for welfare programs?
 
fuck mexicans. id like to see a fence set up on the broder along with sniper towers every like half mile or so apart, and have designated killers shoot down any and every mexican that tries to enter my country
 
I don't think you have considered the fact that when you live just south of a country where people supposedly all have lots of great big homes and 50 inch plasma screen TVs, while you are getting paid nothing and don't have an education, the temptation to immigrate and make your life and your family's life better seems pretty justifiable to me...
