ok well i know everyone prob uses limewire/kazaa/winMX for music but r the feds really gonna try and enforce this illegal downloading on millions of ppl? i think its funny how they just introduce iTunes and Napster that are charge money for songs so that it might just work itself out, but its not, whats really gonna happen with this problem/free music for us?

you have to share with limewire. i always run virus scans just in case. limewire doesnt fuck my computer up at all in fact its the best downloader that ive used. maybe its just that ur computer is slow and lacks ram. like mine. limewire makes my computer run slow

i use ares and thats sick and when i had kazaa i just ran ad ware things alot so i never got anythign bad but i got lots of corrupt songs from them

i dont know about anyone else, but since someone on here made a post about "station ripper" i stopped using filesharing programs entirely.

thats true, most of the artist that are complaining (metallica, mariah carey, p diddy, jay-z, aerosmith etc...) have more than one company in there name...mariah alone has a multi million dollar record company, a huge wine company, and a producing company.

p diddy has a clothing company, record company, and a liquor company, producing....

anyone see a pattern?

 
also dont forget about the olsen twins, they tried to sing but couldnt pull it off so they just started a clothing company, so did britney, and lindsay lohan, lizzie mcguier, even the hilton sister...what the fuck, celebrities piss me off

just use station ripper. it records the internet radio stations off iTunes. i just leave it on and you get tons of music everytime you check to see what you got.

yeah, e donkey did me good, so did kazaa and limewire is ok (doesnt ork on my comp though) screw 'them'. Just if its one of those garage rock bands you might want to buy their cds so that they can make more music. Rappers are always swimming in bling and others can do concerts for mone as well, I'd pay a bit to hear guys live

192 kbps is not cd quality...cd quality is like 14 bps...most computers are just set to rip cd's at that quality to your computer by default

what i meant is that it is very similar to the quality of most cd files on peoples' computers. if they download stuff on winMX, limewire, whatever, chances are it will be around 192 kbps. im just sayin...

Limewire DOES fuck up your computer. One of my professors laughed at me then used those exact words after he asked what downloading program people use these days and I said Limewire. I only ever used it on my room mates' computers though and those are completely screwed. Mine on the other hand runs perfectly and we all formatted and reinstalled XP Pro at the start of the year.

Bittorrent is by far the best thing I've used (since UxPx ftp went down - BOO!). I'm using Azureus just now though and everything slows down when it's running because my computer isn't great. Any advice for a faster client?

i used to have bear share, limewire and kazaa and my comp was so fucked up but they were mad fast for downloading. now i only have winMX and it supposivly (sp.?) barely has any viruses but the songs are slow to download.

I use mostly Bit Torrents and Shareaza, a nice little package that is a BT client, connects to 3 p2p networks(can't remember which ones).

And you are fairly safe if you don't share, if you noticed all the lawsuits are against people that are uploading the stuff. Also to be safe, I run peer guardian, which blocks all IP ranges that are deemed unfriendly.

most of the artists i listen to, put their stuff on the internet themselves for people to have access to.

they arent big bands, so getting their stuff on the internet gives people easy access to them. they get support by people going to their shows, buying cds, clothing, etc from there. their cds still get bought.

it does it for all programs and it does it for all programs (ive never bought a song from itunes)and cd's. on my bros ipod it just puts it on pause in the middle of a song. do all ipod come with a warranty? i got mine in late febuary like 25 or something so idk if i have/had a warranty if it will still covor it now
