Il Moro vs Cabrio

They look very similar, and I don’t understand the difference between the two. Structurally they seem identical.

Are they the same molds? Is the difference in naming just marketing? Am I stupid for even asking this question? Are they the same molds with different plastics? Different tongues?

Not a stupid question. My understanding is that 'cabrio' refers to any boots that are 3-piece (shell, cuff, tongue).

The il Moro is one model that's a cabrio boot, but there are other brands and even other Dalbellos within the cabrio umbrella.

In the past, the Il Moro and Krypton 130s were the same exact boots with same exact tongues (B (stiffer) and C (Softer) tongues). The only difference was the Il Moro had a softer liner to make it more softer 'Park/Freestyle' oriented flex. Oh and the Il Moros just had regular DIN soles, while the Kryptons were eventually given GW soles and tech fittings. At least that was the response I got when I emailed a shop regarding the same exact question.

With this year's new range of Cabrio boots, I'm not sure the differences remain the same between the Cabrio 130 (which replaces the Krypton 130s) and the Il Moros. It's just the whole cabrio line up of boots got a new last from the previous seasons.

Just looked into these, think I sorted it out ... the Cabrio and Il Moro use the same cuff and shell, Il Moro has rubber footbed, and the tongues on higher end versions of each series are Pbax vs Polyurethane. Pbax is lighter and less temp sensitive than PU.

Cabrio higher end models are gender specific (for example the 95W is ~$100 more than Mens 100 b/c of tongue), and the 115W/120M/130M have superior liner.

Evo does a good job showing cuff/shell/tongue configs for each model, and product guy from Dalbello explains it ok here

I've got both cabrio and shadow now. Cabrio very disappointing, gonna ski shadow instead it's much better. New middle buckle on cabrio doesn't hold your heel back.
