So i have some money in my paypal, 27 dollars to be exact, and i want to get a ski flick, but i cant decide, get lucky and slamina both look super ill, and i like crazy jibs and big air's. i also wanna order it from wherever is gonna hook up some good stickers, sooo some proposals would be nice!

and who has watched both of them? what did u like?

thanks!

sparknotes: help me choose a good jib/jumps movie for under 27 bucks

what percent backcountry is that?

i have all the old matchstick ones so im set on that i wanna see some sick jibs and dirty airs

Slamina is good, but it doesnt have as many bonus features as Look it Up did. Still a sick movie though.

If you can scrounge up a few more dollars i would buy Journal though.

torn between Look it Up and Teddy Bear Crisis. Look it Up had such good bonus footage and amazing editing but everyone charged so hard in Teddy Bear Crisis and it came out like three years ago..

Head for the Hills - 10/10 - I don't think any ski film ever made me this stoked, although 'Believe' was pretty close. Will and Andy's section is so sick but there are so many great sections.
Journal - 9.5/10 - Charley Ager! For me has to be perfomance of the year. Sick pow, sick park, sick urban. But also sick performances from the whole crew. Max Hill and Frank Raymond kill it.
Turbo - 9/10 - Incredible skiing but for me didn't have the 'feel' of the above two. Not a single weak section in it. Riding level blew my mind. Great editing too but it lacked reality for me. Almost too perfect.
Such is Life - 7/10 - So sick in parts but found it a bit long with some slow sections. Cosco and LJ were the standouts, but sick skiing from all. Editing was a bit weak though.
Slamina - 8/10 - Not really an 'Am' movie anymore. So sick! Wallisch, Stepp, Witt Foster, Henrik Harluat are the killer sections that spring to mind.
Road to Nowhere - 7/10 - Really enjoyable to watch. Some seriously sick snowboarding (which I don't normally enjoy watching). Amazing Urban! Could have used some more variety.
Massive - 9/10 - Amazing skiing, I like more urban to balance thing but thats not what this was about. I loved the soundtrack too and the feel of the main movie. But some of it was cheesy and the titles were weak in my opinion. Still sick. Everyone should see it. I thought Believe was better though.
Hunting Yeti - 7.5/10 - Skiing was unreal and editing was great. It was a bit too short and a bit repetitive though. And the webisodes took away from any 'wow' moments. Idea was better.
If you want the best park/jib/urban then it has to be Turbo/Slamina

royalty, saw it all over the poorboyz site for super cheap. best movie ever and a part of skiing history.

so who has seen get lucky and slamina? i need to decide but now im leaning to lucky.

hows the soundtrack in both? rap and techno respectively im assuming?

werrd i think im gonna get get lucky and i think im gonna get it off getboards, who is the guy to talk to to make sure they have it in stock, and whats the discount code?

where can i get it with a good discount?!

thanks for all the input k+ guys

the whole movie was better. editing, filming tricks you name it. get lucky gave me the feeling that makes you want to ski. slamina only gave me a bit of that feeling

my bad didn't even read the actual thread. I havent seen either but i heard slamina was sick as fuck. I saw road to nowhere and that was a reallyl sick movie too. Martinis are killing it.

This year i saw hunting yeti, journal, reasons, and 44 days. Was stoked on all of these movies, but 44 days suprised me the most, cuz i wasn't expecting it to be off the hook, and it was completely sick.

You can get both Slamina and The Motherland for 27 bucks. 2 "am"movies for the price of 1 "pro" movie best deal out there.

could someone give me like a two sentence review of the motherland. I was considering it but i have spent about 70 bucks on ski movies already so if i get it I want to make sure its good.

+K

very true but i sometimes wonder if i saw it for the first time today, out of context, would it be that good? i dono maybe

i just watched slamina and it was ILL!!!!! Hernik, Wallisch, urban, jibs. LJ Strenio' seg made me stoked to ski. henrik and wallisch's seggies made my jaw drop! there was insane some awesome bc, and overall a great movie, id get this over get lucky any day
