Ideas for busted walk mode on Nordica striders

Blew up the little pin that prevents the rod in the middle from sliding down so the boot was permanently in walk mode



So I tried to add a bolt through like this



And it has just broken within a day or two each time I’m on the 3rd or 4th bolt.

Has this happened to anyone? Do they make bolts that are stronger than stainless steel and easily available at Home Depot?

You should be able to get grade 8 and 5 bolts at home depot.

Either get a higher grade screw, or a screw with an unthreaded shank, those are better for this kind of stress

broke mine, nordica warrantied it and sent me a new rivet/pin to push through. that said a bent spoke worked well for me as those things are tough.

Got a couple grade 8 cotter pins, going to give these a try. Guessing they’ll work better than a screw since they’re made for horizontal stress more than a screw is?
