Hey what is with Idaho and it's so called ski areas. The places I've been too mainly cater to the richie-rich types bumpin down the grromed runs in their one-peice powder suits. When is this state gonna catch up with the rest of the world and realize that in oder to not suck as bad as they do now they need to put in some real parks, and drop the luxury resort attitude?

 
im guessing you probably just skied at sun valley because i doubt you went to scwietzer and would go home saying idaho parks suck

 
yeah, sun valley doesnt have a park, but brundage, schweitzer, and bogus all have fairly nice parks.

brundage schweitzer actually tend to have decent parks but if you want anything worth while get out of the state i would rather powder ski in idaho then park ski

you must have only skied sun valley :o) i wanna kill that place. i guess they are getting a 1/2 pipe next year though, maybe ill start liking them a lil more.

i have skied all over and i think that schweitzer is one of the best resorts because it is small but it still have an awesome park. there aren't that many rich people around so it is more based on the freestyle generation.

No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.
 
You must have went to Sun Valley. Ill be real suprised if they wind up putting a half pipe in this season. They should have done it like 4 or 5 years ago.

I dont care what anybody says, schweitzers park is killer and brundage's is super smooth. But I will agree bogus has always sucked. Hopefully they will get a clue and step it up this year

I hit a couple of the tables in the Playground at Bogus yesterday. They suck big time. The only one that was of decent size kicks you so far backseat, and the others in there are just worn out icy bumps. The new rails look sick, but they need to work on their jumps. Aside from the park, Bogus isn't too bad.

I just realized another reason why Idaho sucks... For how big the sate is, and how many mountains are within the borders; there aren't many ski areas at all. And the ones that are there are either small or they don't support the younger kids that much. Damn...

I love how people bash on Idaho's skiing/snowboarding scene. Maybe if you put that $70 lift ticket towards a snowmobile rental or some skins and hit up the backcountry then you would realize how sick Idaho is. Just an example for you would be to watch afterlame this years robot food video and see that oh 15-20 minutes of the video is spent in Idaho. If you want I can name off some other movies just to prove that Idaho is sick far beyond the ritz of sun valley and the massive amounts of gaipers at bogus.

idaho will be on the map very soon. tamarack is a new resort going in, just south of mccall they are planning to have a super pipe and a full park and rail park. they have already shown that they are prograssive, with there mtn bike activity. 10-15 tables and gaps with a wall ride for mtn bikes. i'm sure they have enough money for what it takes to build a decent park. wait and yul see.

Yeah for this year its just going to be getting better and better.

Sun Valley is alot of hype so anybody that hasnt been anywhere else shouldnt really say anything.

Tamarack has alot people stoked but they want to charge Sun Valley prices. I will skip that and head straight to Brundage.

all you little park bitches...shut the fuck up. if you dont like idaho's parks, then good. if youve ever been on top of brundage or tamarack and looked around, you would see why idaho is so fuckin sick. get a fuckin snowmobile and its untracked powder for ages. like that one guy said, most of afterlame was filmed around here in idaho just proves idaho is sick. and almost every good film nowadays has idaho back country in it. so if youre still gonna talk shit on idaho then move to PARK city or some place that dedicates it mountain to park bitches...the kid that started this thread should have his knees stomped so he can't ever ski idahos sick ass snow or anywhere ever again, fag.

You know if you dont like it move, tahoe, utah , co, they all have parks, and really if all you want to do is ride park, move to vermont. If anything you should start throwing shit off cliffs and natural hits and capitalize on what you have.

i just moved back to idaho and spent 5 months in the woods and yea there is a HUGE untouched part of idaho with BC that would blow your mind, i know where i'm spending my weekends fuck the resorts.
