I made this GIF file for my icon, and it's too big. How do I make it smaller?

open it in photoshop or preview or whatever, go to Image Size, change the dimensions

no, it's not too big in like width, but in file size. It's supposed to be only 8k, but it's like 20k

oh my b. but you go to the same place in the program, and there should be a place to adjust the resolution, along with a nice estimate of how big your file size will be at any given resolution.. tell me if that's too vague

not to thread jack but mr noob here wants to know how do you make an icon? i tried to searchbar but realuts were ineffective.
