IB? [Vent]

Does any of you go to an IB school? International Baccalaureate (yep its legit the hardest word ever to spell correctly)

If so, How much do you hate it? I particularly hate it as we had Oral presentations that count for 15% of our final graduation grade (next year) and like 4 huge ass papers to write in a week.. Especially Economics, who needs that stupid ass subject? Write an essay on 14 topics in Economics.. 1000 words and im done with 2.. and we had 4 days to fucking complete this along with everything else.

Yep I suck and will become karma raped by this - but I had to vent so I can get on with some studying.

Ohh and its 05:30 AM here and my paper is due 11:35AM today. How screwed am I on a scale from 23-59 (Whereas 45.093 is the highest)? I don't know, you tell me.

4 years from now, when you're short a class to graduate and then remember "hey, I have IB credits, hot dog I'm out of here" It will almost be worth it.

But seriously it won't be
 
It's definitely good to know a little about economics.

I thought this thread was going to be about investment banking. I was a little surprised since newschoolers doesn't seem like a place where investment bankers would spend time.

Good luck with all your crap. When you have to spend less time/money on college you'll think it was worth it.

i also started it this year and it hasnt been that bad, you just gotta focus alot in class and revise constantly also keeping up with the work might be pretty tough sometimes but if you work efficiently youll be fine. i still get alot of free time to do whatever i want

all the finals kinda scare me and we just started looking at the EE and im a wee bit freaked out about that haha

just remember when answering somethin in a test, link everything together and explain throughly with lots of examples to get full marks
 
i tried some IB classes last year.

i dropped all of them but one before second semester.

why?

1. IB is fucking retarded

2. no schools i wanted to go acccept IB credit

3. IB is fucking retarded

4. IB doesn't teach you a god damn thing about fucking anything.

seriously. its the worst fucking idea ever. you will never look back on all the pain and suffering from IB and go "boy! that was worth it!!"

you just wont. because it wasn't worth it. it never will be. you have wasted alot of time from the best years of your life studying and undertaking enormous tasks of academic bullshit for absolutely nothing.

i had a bad experience with IB. i fucking hated my teachers, and the curriculum for every class.
 
Wait so if you started this year, wouldn't that mean you are in Pre-IB ?

Because that shit was fucking easy. All I did was party and still managed a 5.3 out of 6.0 average.

IB1 on the other hand.... haven't partied in like 3-4 weeks.
 
yup this is my 5th year in an IB school and it has been a total waste of time. all they do is make us do extra work that is total bullshit and has no meaning whatsoever. i just finished a 45 page personal project that was required for us to graduate but it doesn't even count for marks. definitely regret going into that program
 
Yeah I heard Personal Project is a bitch. but thats just for middleschoolers so I got saved there.

I joined in MY1 and was like fuck this, so i transferred to a public school and spent the next 3-4 years partying and not paying attention in class.. then transferred back in Pre-IB. which is basically MY5 but super easy without personal project.
 
yeah im from quebec and we just have high school which is grades 7-11. im just happy this is my last year so i can get the fuck out of IB for good
 
IB is a joke.

I am stuck in a few IB classes but am not getting an IB diploma. It would be worthless because i am not going to MIT or Harvard. The only benefit of IB classes is that they prepare you for college, and make high school not as mind numbingly boring....

... oh wait never mind.

FML, off to school with 1300 words of Economics gabber and im not halfway done yet. I have no clue how the Nerds in my class could be done after 600 words.. I think i'm doing something wrong.

IB is straight retarded. I did well on every test and I didn't get a single piece of credit at the school I am attending now. Waste of my time
 
I received the IB diploma about three years ago. Yeah, it sucked and a lot of seemed really useless but looking back im glad i did it. The best thing I got out of it was learning how to figure out which things you should really work on and which things you can BS in life. international baccalaureate school = I B.S.this is actually a really important skill.

Also, I hated econ when I was learning in HS but then I got a 5 on the IB test and decided I wasnt a terrible subject and now im an econ major and i love it.
Also, on the Bio exam i not only fell asleep for 40 minutes, but also read the directions wrong and only wrote one essay in a space where i was supposed to write two. Dont do that....but i still got the diploma because the system is pretty flexible.
Also, all the work that goes into IB looks good on applications and could help you get into that reach school.
 
I have no idea what you mean by AP but:

In all honesty then IB was created for Europeans, because of all the different countries and different levels of education quality it was very hard to take a max grade from the eastern European (poor education at schools) and compare it to a max grade from Finland (Epic Education at schools) when searching for schools like in Britain.

Therefore IB uses a worldwide curriculum so schools know that you've had a good quality education prior to applying to the school. Ohh and because all of the classes are tought in English you know your shit in English instead of starting to Translate all my math and Economics from (in my case) Norwegian to English if I start school in America.

It also opened doors to a widely used system where you complete one year in the IB school you applied to then get transfered to a school abroad and finish up there - and you will be at the same level as the schoolstudents abroad.

That probably looks like random non coherent thoughts to you but it looks good to me, But im running on 72 hours without sleep now. 2 hours and im gonna sleep for 3 hours and then im off to work! .

Im having a bad week.
 
IB is useless unless you are in fucking europe. Better to get a high GPA in regular classes, or take AP. AP is easier to get good marks but you still cover more shit which means you can either skip university courses or do really well in them with little effort.
I would never do IB, you learn less than AP and do WAY more work.
