I mean, seriously, it fucking sucks.

Admittedly, i used to be the type who disliked all mainstream media, along with hating on fox news extra hard. But after watching this video:

I have changed my viewpoint. Admittedly, i have never really watched but MSNBC news, and i have only really watched Fox to laugh at how shitty it is...

I always figured the NBC crowd were a bit less retarded, just because i agree with their politcal views (only when contrasted to those of conservatives of course)... however its been made pretty clear to me now that both sides are going to fucking ridiculous to control the masses of gullible dumbfucks in your country.

I highly recommend people look into Christopher Hitchens a lot more (hes the English guy pwning the other 2 in this video... He really does talk a lot about how ridiculous the US political system is when compared to that of the British system for example. (Obviously he is not claiming that the British system is correct, not by a long shot, but it is at least a vast improvement on the American sytem). This being because the English system is based on actual debate between the opposing viewpoints, whereas the American system demonstrates, time after time, the complete lack of debate in its political process. This is demonstrated most clearly by the presidential "debates," which, by definition, are not debates because the rules state that neither party can talk directly to one another, and it is all run by a moderator. The presidential debates are just like 2 press conferences... Another example would be how legislation is passed by senators... rather than meeting and discussing the legistlation like a proper democracy is supposed to do, the senators for the legislation (and/or against it) simply give their speech, followed by a vote... rather than discussing it in a debate and coming to one final conclusion.

I mean, most people state that both sides are shitty, which we all kinda know deep down, but really, the way the country works just fucking sucks, way more than everywhere else in the western world.

Anyways basically my point is that this video made me realize how fucking shitty America is, and that i feel sorry as fuck for the people who live there who can also see this happening around them, yet cant communicate to the vast hordes of fucking retards that eat up this shit that its all garbage.

And im trying to make a kinda legit thread... i know itll just turn into a liberal vs. conservative thing at best... so give me a break here.

Also i didn't proofread any of this so that probably made no sense.

anyone who classifies themselves as either conservative or liberal is a complete retard to me. one cannot be completely liberal in all situations and one cannot be completely conservative in all situations. either way, youre gonna go watch Fox and watch CNBC or whatever it is that the media is shoving down your throats and think youre more informed than the other party.
partisan news is not news. it is spun and delivered in a way that suits their political viewpoint. youre being fed all this crap and nonsense either way. if there is not a new non partisan news source in the United States i see the country collapsing or becoming substantially less powerful in the next few decades.
i do agree with you though, thanks to Americas abysmal education system and the general ignorance of the public, i feel sorry for anyone who lives in the states and has no idea what is going on.
think about this, every single day youre fed the same music on the radio (or at least the public is) youre attracted to entertainment channels rather than non partisan straight sober news sources because its more interesting (or at least the public is) and you think this is not for a reason?
if you understand American politics you know that a large percentage of the bills passed if not all of the bills passed are proposed thanks to filthy rich lobbyists and interest groups throwing money at senators and representatives to go into congress and the house and vote on this shit because they had a great golf game last sunday.

heres the kicker. all those lobbyists are the guys who own television and major corporations who continually get these reps to pass bills to help them stay in power and keep you (or the public) entertained and in the dark so you cant see whats really going on. those lobbyists who own those large corporations which include TV stations and programming own your silly little news channels too. you think they wouldnt want to keep you in the dark or spin you around to keep you in an eternal little war between each other that goes fucking nowhere while they bank off of it? hell yeah.
both conservatives and liberals who watch their supposedly superior news channels are just as foolish as those idiots who dont even watch the news. youre being fed the same shit, either way.
 
I just find it ironic that Americans claim to be the best nation on earth, founded on all these great ideals, and yet their country has been transformed into the biggest joke on earth.

I recognize that you are being sarcastic, but honestly national politics are not something that we, as regular citizens, should be worrying about. We have almost no say in what goes on in this country. Closest we ever get to being heard is voting for representatives. I try to just stay updated and involved with local and sometimes state politics because I do have a voice in those arenas.

So there's that. .
 
It's not even that. Most people voted for him because well one, he IS black and they wanted to say that they helped create a moment in history, two many (like me) thought he was actually honest and was going to change things in this country, and three because he had a sweet jump shot.

I am simplying pointing out how ridiculous the American political system is. Its ridiculous that a country founded on the morals and ideas that American is founded on can turn into what it is now... which is just a fucking shitshow.

And obviously there are ways to fix this that i implied in my post... namely not having a fucking retarded media that doesnt even attempt to hide their obvious bias towards either side of the 2 party system (which is another problem in of itself)... or by actually having congress debate new legislation rather than just hearing some speech and voting, it doesnt get anything done.

If you had actually read my post you would have seen that i brought up these points, and attempted to start an intelligent discussion about the subject... whereas you simply come in this thread and hypocritically attack me personally without contributing anything of value to the discussion.

This thread is not about Obama. I posted 2 videos that show both fox news and msnbc both vehemently attacking their guest, who is 100 times more intelligent than anyone in american media, simply because he doesnt agree with what the republican or liberal candidate/president did... which then goes onto explain the rest of my post.

i know you think it gets you more karma or something to hate on everything i post, but seriously, this post is perfectly legit and reasonably well thought out, so dont suggest that its a shitty thread, considering it is better than most of the garbage in NSG (part of which i am admittedly responsible for).

Well if you really want to get down to it we meant to drop the bomb in Hiroshima on a bridge... we missed that by about 100 feet and dropped it on a bank instead. Both that bank and the bridge still stand to this day.

My grandma was in Hiroshima the day before it was bomb and I have been to the Peace Park/museum they have their about 3 times now... it isn't beyond me dude... So stop with the assumptions.

You can still see the shadows burned into the bridge too from where people were standing.
