" I wish you wouldn't do that you could get hurt"

When my dad was still alive he worked at a little place called white grass and cross country skied (which is badass). He never liked alpine tho because he broke his femur during it. My mom doesn't ski but she's pretty chill about it. She even gave me props when I finally learned backies, so that was cool.

My friend's mom MAKES me turn my din down to 5 even though I ride at 10. She literally takes my ski from me.

How much do you weigh? I feel like if you can ride at a 5 you probably shouldn’t be at a 10.

I have always had supportive parents when it came to skiing, they would just hear the stories from others what I was doing or jumping and would just roll their eyes. I just had to keep my grades up in school and the insurance on my truck so I could ski. Now when it came to bicycles or dirt bikes, whole other story. I didnt learn to ride a bike until I was 10.

Funny this resurfaced.

Update..

I showed Mom my On3p's last year when I was home visiting and she was quite intrigued with them. She hadnt seen shaped skis before let alone twin tips. She had fun reminiscing of the old straight skis she had with cable bindings. She doesnt really say much about me skiing I think she's just happy I found a fun sport to do during the winter. I loathed winter most my life until I learned how to ski.

Dad on the other hand surprised me with his reaction. He's usually pretty chill. ( Imagine in 70 year old retired country boy trucker voice) " Those are them trick skis huh? Be careful you could get really hurt"

Edited to add... Funny they let us do all these other "dangerous" sports with no problems

They let us ride our bikes all over the place, rollerblade, skateboard, tried snowboarding, and slide mach 10 down icy sledding hill on those old fashioned wood sleds with the metal runners.
