I want to rocker my TNK's

so, last year i got a pair of 4FRNT TNKs and they are probably the best ski i've ever skied. But after a year of rails, kickerlines and what not they are totally beat up. The edges are starting popping out in the front and the back, this could be fixed temporarly with epoxy which i've done quite a few times now.

A while ago i read here on the newschoolers forum that alot of pros heated up their skis and rockered them on their own to get more flow in the powder. Does anyone know how to do this without risking the ski to go up in flames or something like that?

The reason why i want to do this is basically just because it sounded fun, and now that im soon to be sitting here with a pair of skis im not going to use i might as well try this!

sparknotes: got a pair of 4FRNT TNKs 07/08, want do make them rocker, asking you how to make them rocker

I have no idea how to do it, or if it's even possible, but it sounds like a cool idea. If you give it a go, post pics of the results for us.

clamp that shit down and wherever you want rocker too start put some books or something then heat it up with a heat gun or put it in front of a heater/stove or some shit like that. OR you could just like a nose and tail press for like 8 hours straight... your choice

Hmmm, I have a pair of TNKs that sound exactly the same as yours, I might also try and rocker them, as they are pretty much good for nothing other than urban and backyard jibbing now.

Haha was just about to go digging to look for that to post!

And to the OP, DO NOT do the first method, nor the first suggestion either. When you keep both skis together like that and slide something in between, sometimes one ski can take more of the rocker than the other ski, ultimately fucking it up. You would get like 40/40 rocker on one, and like 20/30 rocker on the other(just threw some numbers out there).

Better yet, try to give it SUPER Camber. Bend your tips and tails down and see if it gives you super pop. I sorta want to see someone do this now.
