I Want a Powder/ all mountain ski

Hey I'm 17 and weigh 145 pounds I'm 5 10. I want a ski that floats in pow and still crushes the groomers. I was considering the following.

1.saloman rocker 2 108

2. Salomon shogun

3. Atomic blog

Any suggestions?

I like the idea of a rocker/camber/rocker profile

im 6' now but was 5'10 and 150 pounds when i bought my Line Blends. They are amazing in powder as well as all mountain and groomers. They are great skis, i love them. You should check them out!

Consider the automatic. That was my fav all mtn/pow ski last season. For a 115mm ski they ski amazingly on the groomed stuff and they were awsome in trees. I personally find blogs too soft to ski hard, they are very playfull but not the most stable. The rocker 108 is a great ski if you want some freestyle use, still carves well but rally playfull. Maybe look at the q105 as well its the new little brother of the rocker 115.

Bidirectional?

There's been a tonne of threads asking a similar question, basically you've got two choices something ~100 for better hard snow performance of ~110 for better soft snow performance.

There's a huge difference between many of these skis, so I advise you go and do some research into the profiles, flex etc. of each ski and see which one suits you needs and budget best. Not only is recommending a pair of skis for someone off a few lines of text difficult, but you will also find it to be a beneficial exercise, which will help you to make decisions on 'what ski?' in the future.

On3p Jeffrey is a solid shout, I've heard nothing but good things about them. Apparently they're not dreadful on rails, which is unusual for a wide ski. I know it's a predictable and boring call, but I ride Armada JJ now. I ride them at about 185, I'm 5'11". They're beautiful on powder, solid in the air and charge through crud.

Worth Magic. Hands the fuck down.

I have a pair of 185s in the response/double carbon layup and they fucking SLAY. Super playful and poppy charger of a ski, no idea how they do it all so damn well. It was designed from the ground up to ski in tight, steep, rocky trees both in pow and chop and they do that amazingly well, along with laying down some serious trenches on hardpack. I don't feel the least bit out of place maching GS turns on them either because they are such a solid feeling, confidence inspiring ski.

Never been on a ski that skis pow so well without being obsolete once the fresh is tracked. I used to bring 2 pairs of skis with me on a pow day but now I just bring these and never look back. They're on sale right now too I believe. Pressed by Praxis in Cali, and every pair you get to choose your core, layup and topsheets so they are YOUR skis y'know?

Pretty sexy too if you ask me.

Ever looked at the Atomic Access? It was built for all-mountain and powder. It has the rocker-camber-rocker profile you want, as well as the 100mm waist. I've spent the last two years on a pair of them and I know they will go anywhere and can handle all terrain with ease. They float like a dream in powder, they're a bit slidy/shaky when you're hauling on groomers though. Here's the link:

didn't think about them nordica soul riders? I've heard they can go anywhere without trouble ... as kieran says "ski park in the morning, rip pow in afternoon"

Who in their right mind has this backasswards view on getting the freshies???

You ski powpow in the morn until it get tracked/cutup/choppy, THEN you take it to the park. Or out the gates to get to the real stashes.

i second this. my favorite ski i have ever owned. im 5'10 i ride a 172 (yes i know way too short) but i definitely recommend the ski.

Op, if your still looking, evo has the 2011k2 obsethed , for $279! Killer pow ski, tops tight trees and slays groomers . Downside, may only have 169 size left .

the surface walk free's are dope. i got the white ones in 2011 i think. sick for backcountry, pow, all mtn. highly reccomend
