This is what I've always wanted:

but the fucking thing is outlawed in the tristate area (im in nyc) and i dont know any hedgehog breeders.

but now i live with my gf and she is shit scared of spiders and said octo reminds her of spiders so thats a no go (until i just go out and buy one and she learns to stop being such a puss)
any other ideas for cool pets? in relatively small places?
 
I'd advise against the octopus unless you've cared for a saltwater environment like a fish tank before. It's a lot more work than you realize, especially for smaller salt water tanks. Larger ones require less constant maintenance and monitoring, but the initial cost will probably put you off.
 
i have a beaded dragon, one of the easiest lizards to take care of and hey can be pretty cool/ super mellow. kinda get old after a while but oh well.
 
Snake. They're so easy to take care of. Feed em and clean the cage once a week. Done.

Don't get a ferret unless you want to clean it's cage and live with a smelly animal, don't get me wrong they are tons of fun but unless you have lots of energy and time don't get one.
 
octopus is such a sick idea, i work with them and they and squid are so fucking cool. if its possible for you definitely get one, thatd be so dope. probably a pain to own though i would guess? just guessing but maintaining a saltwater tank sounds troublesome. maybe not though.

that hedgehog looks badass too. i want some sort of weird ass pet once im settled down for sure, plus a kickass cat

definitely get an octo if you can though dude, such a sick idea

get a crested gecko. i have one and they are so easy bt so cool and they dont mind you holding them. they come in all different colors too
 
you should get a liger its pretty much my favourate animal its a cross between a lion and tiger bred for its skills and magic
 
unfortunately chameleons cant change into any of those colours. they change depending on their mood and when that happens they usually get more yellow or green and become darker or lighter. sorry dude
 
Yes! Get a sugar glider! The only thing is you have to wear them in a pouch around your neck for a while so that they can get used to you, but after that you're set.
