When I got into skiing, skiing was in a kinda dark era where crews like stept and 4bi9 had left and not many people where dropping edits and movies like in 2010. So I was always looking at edits from the 2008-2012 era, so many dope skiers and videos from that time. People like Charlie Owens, Shea Flynn, BDOG, Jon Borgan, TWALL, EDOLLO, THEED, Ahmet Dadali, Michael Deshenaux and Clayton vila++ dropped so many heaters and are people I really look ut to and take inspiration from. this era will always be so special but I feel like skiing is getting into a new golden era, so many people and crews out there making so much great stuff! check out steezyskiing if you wanna see some OG stuff tho:))

This is top 10 park edits of all time. Like not even just saying this, it’s to this day one of the most impressive and progressive park segs of all time. Fucking 5 swaps? Shit, people still don’t even do those that often these days. Every trick in there steezy as hell, big as fuck, and insanely tethnical. Song slaps and cut is clean. Legendary segment.

Yo I agree. For a minute skiing was a little less creative and more focused on spinning and flipping faster I think (which was necessary to get us here now). I think the bunch filled that gap pretty quickly. And now that people can spin and flip fast they are getting creative with it again in a whole new way and new trends are definitely emerging as well. Skiing trends now are heavily influenced by the bunch combined with technical skill and still touching on the roots of freeskiing. I feel like as far as what people are wearing on the slopes now is really throwing it back to The origins of freeskiing with the long poles, more technical outerwear, etc. im really fucking with it. Not to mention baggy is back but with a different cut- shorter lengths and wider widths then the 2010 era. Definitely following the current skateboarding trend there

I gotta say, trends come and go- but its awesome to see what a tight knit community we have in freeskiing and how every era that this sport has passed through was necessary and impactful in where freeskiing is out right now. Every year the limits are pushed both stylistically and technically. Were all blessed to be apart of something so special and which at the end of the day just brings a whole lotta joy.

I was in the park yesterday and I was the only skier wearing an actually baggy fit. And I was def the worst skier in the park.

I feel like everyone on social media talks about 4xl but nobody actually wears it

Im just stoked that after all these years and the fads that came and went, kids are still out there throwing down. Its crazy to think some of the little ski school kids I used to ride up with on the chairlift are probably putting out dope edits now.

The amount of insane edits that came out this year alone is mind boggling. Its better now IMO because any group of riders can have access to pro level video and editing equipment and put together a top movie. Back in the day unless you were Stept or rode for PBP etc you didnt have access to any of that stuff.
